In the history of the NHL, no player can match Wayne Gretzky. The best scorer and top-pointer in NHL history, the Edmonton Oilers icon is the certified GOAT. However, since 2015, there has been one man who has stood out as a worthy successor: Connor McDavid.

Well, hockey has started back up.

I need to try to make it to a game this season with my wife. She is the real hockey fan in the house.

Growing up in the middle of Western Illinois corn fields.... hockey was never really in our conversation. Never developed in interest. Used to watch some football and basketball.... don't even do that anymore. Pretty much these days we watch baseball and even then only Cub games.

Much of our TV time is NCIS and BBC mysteries with the occasional Canadian mysteries thrown in.

I started watching hockey again 2 years ago, after 45-50 years of not watching it.
Getting tired of the Habs rebuilding, they lost 8-2 last night.
I do enjoy going to to the Rockets games though. The AHL farm team, it’s cheaper and easier to get to.

Being at the game…. Be it baseball, football, hockey, etc…. Is always way more entertaining than watching on TV.

Personally, I wish women's hockey was more popular. Watching women's hockey is almost like watching a different sport.

I recall watching women's hockey during the Winter Olympics several years ago. The men's hockey looked like they were hung-over. The women looked more agile and nimble on the ice - overall more athletic.
