Swamp Thang anyone?

Looking for a pair of 8 ohm for a 212 with my MOSFET - part 2.
Local CL listing popped up today with a pair of Swamp Thangs and a pair of Texas Heats.
Basically unused from a cancelled cab build.

From what I am reading, I think the Swamp Thangs would be more of what I like with big mags and beefy tones.

Any feedback?
Comparison to Celestion for reference?

I have one Alnico Blue and it does sound amazing. I've thought about putting 2 in a 212, but they're so pricey and I'm in love with the Creambacks in a 212. 15w is very limiting, even with my low watt amps.

My only Alnico's are a pair of 50w Tone Tubby Reds (1 hemp, 1 paper) that I currently have in the Origin20 #2 cabs.
Great speakers that I can use with any of my amps - and I've tried them with a few.
TT's are pricy too, but I got one in trade and the other used.

I sure didn’t intend to derail your thread @fitz

But while we’re here…. Yes they do sound very sweet. Chimey. Got that jingle, jangle thing goin on. I got them for a cab project that has been on hold for a few years now. Can’t even remember what that goal was.

Yes. They cost too much. And then there is the 15 watt consideration. So now what do I do? I have an AC15. But one 15 watt speaker in an AC 15 is really not enough.

I could wack the AC 15 from a combo to just a head. And build a 2x12 with the Blues. But that is so permanent. Then there is the fact that the Warfedale 30w speaker I have now sounds great. (I have another of these too.). These Warfedales don’t get enough respect.

At my stage of the game, I’m trying to make things lighter and smaller. Not bigger and heavier.
Creambacks
I have Neo Creambacks in a Twin TM that I really like. Both for sound and weight.

I think I just talked myself into putting the Blues on Reverb and buying 1 Neo Creamback for the AC 15.

I’ll build a 2x12 for the Warfedales. And pair that with the 2x12 V30s (love them) I use with the Marshal

Anytime you see my AVT cab on here , its my Swamp Thang's on bottom,

To me its the American k100.

Its big sounding but clear, i consider the k100 & ST the best strait up speakers . My 5150's are insane with the ST. I color with g12-65 & PV 1200

I have depended on that speaker anytime i do clean strums in recording with a mic 1 ft out & another 3' out
