First off, if you don’t have windows 11 and a Stomp you probably will not understand this issue I’m guessing.

So , line 6 forum allows one post per day that must be approved.

The support makes you look at the FAQ. No one really cares.
Windows 11 will not allow the driver to be used and so far the work around has been no help.

This has been a known issue since August of 2022 or longer. Line 6 FAQ says it’s compatible however windows will not allow so my stomp is useless on my new computer.
I absolutely hate software compatibility issues.

So this things a brick to me, I had to fire up the Marshall amp and that’s fine but not silent for other occupants.

Even though I installed it HX Edit works just not using the stomp directly in Reaper.

No idea what you are talking about, but if the Marshall works, everything is right in the world .
Hope you fix it though

Yes and no. Tube amps are great except at 2:00 am. I often sleep early and wake up early on my days off because I work nights.
If I want to work on something late night early morning the tube amp is not going to cut it.
Small house , thin walls. Again tube amps are loud.

The problem with the Helix driver is Windows will not let it function due some BS security from a recent update. You can’t back out of the update. So far , the work around is failing.
It does want me to register the Helix which I thought I did years ago. So I will try that but I have my doubts.

Oh, the web. Snafu deluxe with a window update and even the fix update is broken. What a fine system.

I don’t have any real issue other than the Stomp driver will not load, I will have to check what updates have been installed.

The only reason I even bought another computer is the old one doesn’t have enough ram. I could have upgraded that .

I had to go back to see when I bought it, it was delivered July 6th 2024. I checked it to be sure it worked and left it sit about a month or more. I have been using it and installing software. Reaper works fine with the Volt 476.

Dell Latitude 5580 15.6" Intel Quad i7-7820HQ 2.90GHz 16GB 512GB SSD Win 11 Pro

Did it ever work? If yes you might want to try “system restore”, if it exists in win 11
Not yet. That is an option . I have to do a back up first. I shouldn’t have to do anything.

The Operating system is like windows 8 to me. They will spend years trying to perfect something once they fix it, it will become obsolete.

In the olden days when I would get viruses, system restore to before the virus always fixed everything.
I also have my PC setup as if it was on a metered connection, which helps to prevent auto updates

Turn off the firewall, turn off any anti virus or security, turn off windows defender etc.
Load the driver or software, restart the computer.
Open the software run the application.
Turn the firewall and security back on, last.
Many times Windows will not load drivers or applications with the security turned on.

If you have a Dell computer, "Del Software manager" must be installed first, or it probably won't load any drivers.

Hope this helps somebody.

I did turn off the firewall and everything in security including core integrity. Not working.

I gave up. I just went from HX Stomp L mono out to the 476 input , done.
Not what I set out to do but it works well.

Are you forced to use One Drive?

I'm still on Windows 10 and I'm able to turn off One Drive so I use my hard drive.
No but it is lurking. I used it on the w10 and it seemed empty all of the folders, storing backups in the cloud. You don’t need it ever. Yet it hogs up space and then they charge you. I turned off and gave up on it a couple of years ago.

That’s why I don’t log in to Microsoft ever.
I do despise their existence.

Anyway, after all of the frustration I did do something that I had done with the Stomp since the last update, factory reset and the latest updates in the presets are worlds better out of box compared to the originals.
I have a Brown something preset, probably EVH . It’s sounds real good and I had some good ones I created I also backed up.

Now that that is done , my idea is to finally give up on windows. Clean the drive ,sell the laptop and buy a Mac Mini.
I know that bastard done would approve.
Kick out windows and hopefully other things come next month. lol
