Announcing... RiffMasters!

Well if you're putting my back to the wall, it's a nay for the reason mentioned...unless you've got a line on a new feedback pedal that works in a digital environment. ;)

I've never been much of a Jimi or West fan and that last Van Halen record left a lot to be desired so I'll happily return the favor and send some disappointment vibes into the afterlife as well. :D
There are virtual feedback plugins.
Plugin Boutique sells one and there is one built in to Line 6 HX Stomp and their other modelers.

I suspected there might be but complicating life further is that I record using a Boss BR-800 unit vs a proper DAW so plugins aren't an option. :(
Oh well, if you ever decide to take that route , check out the HX Stomp . It also is an interface. Plug in to it, amps , effects in, simple recording.

@frostyjr2 gets the jump on us all again, even on the actual duelists with "Feeding Time at the Zoo," her Tame the Monster submission.
Seems the fiercest monster we have around here is the gal in mention. Any challenge we put towards her, she snatches it up greedily then makes it her own.

I'm now trying to wrack my brain for a Side Hustle challenge she might struggle with

Really great ambient feedback soundscape, not exactly what I had in mind, but perfectly valid, super creative,
and absolutely point-worthy. I really like how it builds and swirls and it's given me ideas for my submission as well.

I should clarify the rules: I noted no backing tracks allowed, but certainly looping and/or time-based effects are 100% OK

@TVvoodoo Here's my
MODERN PROBLEMS, (Aren't so modern), sub.

The End is Nigh

Lookin' at the condition of the world today,
Makes me wonder if tomorrow's ever gonna be,
All you leaders in your golf shorts and your cigars too,
While little Johnny got his gun clean up your mess for you.

And the world keeps turnin'
And the Sun keeps risin'

What will it take to make you all see,
The Blinding light?
When you do I'm sure you all will agree,
The End is Nigh

All these monsters killing in the name of their gods,
But what the hell does killin' have to do with love?
Sometimes the many have to pay for the sins of the few,
So I tell you, this is what we ought to do,
BLOW THEM ALL AWAY!!!

And the world keeps turnin'
And the tide keeps risin'

What will it take to make you all see,
The Blinding light?
When you do I know you all will agree,
The End is Nigh

The Four Horsemen,
Bowls of Anger,
The Seventh Trumpet,
ARMAGEDDON!!!

This is how the world will end,
This is how the world will end,
This is how the world will end,
Not with a bang, but with a whimper.

the krafty @Ku² konkocts a not-so optimistic take on where things are headed, keep your head on a swivel boys!

How do you get people to listen to such terrible danger and madnesses? Get your glass-fully-empty message heard by many people?
You put it to a frickin groove that totally slaps! That's what you do!

great bass, and the guitar riff, tons of pretty wicked-nasty licks in there. Lyrical content suitably dark and fearsome - aren't they
all talking about rather scary rhetoric regarding our leaders in the news - and here comes ol' ku, throwing GASOLINE on the fire!
and the vocals are super earnest, on-point and plenty convincing. And the mix is SWEEEEEEET! That ending LOL!

Vox sung and lyrics included for FULL bonus points.

OK team, the rest of us got some work to do to be able to beat this track down in the voting. This is why he's sittin' up top
in the Poonchouse, the bugger, prolly got jen-jen washing his floors for him while he's playing with fireworks

The ending is paraphrasing T. S. Eliot, from The Hollow Men.
"This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
Not with a bang, but a whimper."

In the ending of the poem "The Hollow Men", T. S. Eliot conveys a sense of despair and emptiness. The lines "This is the way the world ends / Not with a bang but a whimper" suggest a quiet and uneventful ending rather than a dramatic or impactful one. This ending reflects the theme of spiritual emptiness and the inability to find meaning or fulfillment in life.

The poet is conveying a message about the consequences of living a hollow existence, devoid of genuine emotion or connection. The hollow men in the poem represent those who lack substance, who live superficially and without purpose. By ending the poem with a whimper instead of a bang, Eliot emphasizes the insignificance and futility of their existence.

Overall, the ending of the poem serves as a stark reminder of the importance of seeking deeper meaning, connection, and authenticity in life to avoid a fate of emptiness and despair. Eliot's message encourages readers to reflect on the consequences of living a shallow and insincere life and urges them to strive for greater depth and significance in their actions and relationships.

We all knew @Ku² was lit, as in exciting and fun, bit how could anyone guess he's also lit as in literary?
Quoting T.S Eliot in his songs? What next surprise remains hidden inside his pressur'd cranium?
I mean, of course I knew he was not one of those hollow men. But, are we all not but pairs of ears in
this virtual valley of dying stars, as we fat all creatures else to feed us, as we fat ourselves for maggots.

Such thoughtful word-nugs can only be followed by Nigel.
