Not totally sure but @Headache has done some speaker shootouts that you would appreciate.

Interesting the DV has that Peavey 5150 Sizzle in with that amp. Thanks for the great comparisons. It is so cool to flavor with speakers vs changing amps before you find the right pickups into amp into speaker into mic combo

Every guitar, pickup, amp, and speaker combination has it's own thing going on.
I've learned so much about tone, and what things I like and dislike! It's been a great journey!

I feel that so many people have things backwards when they talk about guitar wood instead of speakers for changing their tone.

Amps and speakers change tone. And of course effects, especially dirt pedals.
Pickups effect tone a little bit, especially with nuance and attack.... Strings have a very tiny amount... And lastly...... The wood your guitar is made from.... That's my two cents

Definitely, the amount of sheer joy stepping into the jam room everyday is a blessing. The most fun is when people come over & they get to try out all the amps & cabs..it's always such a learning experience of where a guitar needs to be to sit in a mix. None of my friends play heavy music & when they come over they are dumbfounded just how much a 5150 & 4x12 will place them where they need to be. They always seem to try to explode a deluxe reverb or twin to get what my amps do with gain backed down

5150/6505 wasn't designed for that low gain nonsense. It's tight for metal.
It's my 4th favorite amp family

Am having the best response ever with low gain on it actually. The el34 iconic has me playing some solid hard rock that really invites making songs that have some nuance vs just pounding. I love the heavies but it sorta box's me in with the writing a bit. Really thought was going on a heavy binge lol

Really didn't expect the 5150's i got to to be the normal rock machines they are but with the g12-65, k85 in those cabs, it just comes out so unforced then its cool having the gain you need for the heavies on tap for the onslaught.

My friends all are classic -southern rock & P&W players & def enjoy playing with them. Mostly chose bass for those jams cause do get carried away on guitar & its hard for me to not head bang.

Back to topic: In my experience, the DV is a more well rounded take on the super aggressive V30. It carries the same aggression, but is less spikey in the harsh mids. I think it has amazing character and actually lives up to all the hype it gets.
I would recommend it to anyone.

I think it pairs nicely with a darker speaker such as a T75 or a Swamp Thang.

That is interesting, Thats exactly what the description of the PV XXX speakers are by some. Mine are finally breaking in & starting to like them.
