2009 Gibson Les Paul

This job I did years ago on a BC Rich ST-lll.
I still have it but sanded it all back. The body had been modded before I got it . I covered the middle pickup with a piece of wood. If I had masked the silver out, it might have been a good job.

This was the earlier version of that paint job and I should have just stopped there.
With exception of gold needed to overlap the black.

I've got a handful of pick guards in a drawer somewhere if anyone needs one ha ha.

I still have the one that came on it, but thanks.

On side note, I’m pretty sure the stock pickups are going south on my ebony studio. I just don’t like them in any way.
I still have the ones I got from you @Headache . I think I’ll put the custom wound I got back in 2019 in the bridge (zebra) open. No chrome. Change the knobs back in black.

My first thought was to just sand the top down and do a black dye, sand it back and clear it including a painted binding.

Yes I like this plan. I wouldn't try to paint a faux binding though, I would do the scraping method.

I don't think it's as hard as you might think and I'm almost positive it would be easier and look a lot better than trying to paint it.

It is a lot of work just to paint a binding.
