Jcm2000 dead

I noticed something from the Watford Valves link. Did you order your tubes from them at least a couple of days ago? If you didn't, you're going to have to wait a bit!

Well there is that.

And it’s Not a Plexi. But it’s close. Very close.

My amp guy toured as the Marshal guy for ZZ Top on the Eliminator Tour. He went though it. Where ever he may have found a light solder, he touched it up. Fixed whatever was making it squeal in the high gain channel after the metal guys had it. Changed all the tubes and backed off the bias a bit. I feel as though I have a special amp. At idle it’s quiet as a mouse

It does not have the faintest resemblance to a plexi. It is entirely different.
The plexi has a clean preamp.
The DSL has extremely distorted preamp.

Same problems...
I have a sneaking suspicion mine is in the beginning stages of it happening. It's a 98, so definitely in those years of the drift. But months back, I blew the HT fuse and had a bad tube. Changed them out and rebiased it but this time biasing wasn't just a simple tweak and voila! It was running higher in the bias even at the lowest setting and would begin to climb on one valve. I got it to balance out but it's still running a higher mV than what I would like. Since then, I've basically parked the amp. I fear the cost of fixing it would be worth more than the amp, especially since the revised PCB boards aren't available any longer ( I know you can rebuild them sometimes but again, is it even worth it?)
