Jcm2000 dead

No idea… probably thrash overload…. LoL

Ill ask him tomorrow once I pick it up.

My other dsl needs re tubing with new El34s

Apparently thats why my amp is quite …

Looked it up EL 34s there is so many variations…. Agrrrrrrrr hahahahah
The amp should be tested before the new tubes are installed.
If the bias is drifting it will fry the new tubes; and it will be a total waste of money.

Keep this in mind for DSL 50 / 100. The circuit boards go bad and replacing tubes won't fix the issue.

Tubes needs replacing in DSL100HR, i had this amp about 5y and tubes have not been replaced.

I took 2 heads to him . 1 to fix and 1 to check.

My amp is alive and well. It was just blown fuse. Im picking it up tomorrow.

Need to re-tube my other head he said valves needs replacing as its not pumping out 100w …. I was wondering why it was so quite…

More money to spend whooooooo ( Not )
The fuse blows for a reason.
It will probably blow again. The fuse does not just blow by itself.
It's starting to sound like a bad circuit board.

Love it when the fix is easy!

Been loving my 100H for 10years now. Surprised these don’t get more respect. Did replace the tubes once. Got it from some metal guys who were running it with some hot bias. I adjusted that down.

Tubes every 5yr isn’t so bad. But I’m the King of Cleans. Hoping mine last another 10.
Yea, likely it didnt cost me much, he only charge me bench fee which is more than fair.

DSL kicks ass, it can go from cleans to violent. I dont do much cleas to be honest :)

My stuff is all balls out pedal to the metal haahhaahah

Which tubes should i get for it? Any suggestions?

If your tech comes into the forum, I can show him how to check the circuit board.
If the board is bad the tubes will just burn up.
There is no point in replacing tubes, if the circuit board is bad.
But if you buy tubes, get JJ.

I know the 50s could suffer the drift, but I also heard they were far less likely. What's your assessment on it?

you are getting confused on tubes, i took 2 heads to him. one of them was JCM 2000 and other one DSL 100HR.

JCM 2000 was dead ( blown fuse )

DSL went there to be checked if everything was ok.

JCM is fixed for now but he didnt tell me what caused it.... he said there is million reasons.... I asked will it happen again then.... he said it should not as he tested everything....

I'll ask him to join here but his bit of a caveman,,.,,

i found quad matched EL34/E34L -JJ tesla for £74.80 including delivery...

Me too. Got mine in 2010. Never had a moments problem. They don't get a lot of love because, from the beginning, the cork sniffers have tried to run them down because they're assembled in Vietnam.
