It's another NEW GUITAR ! ! !

All cleaned up now.

OK all you need now is 5 backup guitars.
What if a string breaks in the middle of a set?

Well....
CRap, I'll be eating my words for a minute.
I swapped in a Gibson Burstbucker 3 into the bridge...because.... I can't leave well enough alone. And I will now have to retract my words of " these pickups probably won't be getting replaced."

I'll say it was an improvement. The BB3 has a little more sizzle to it and I can make it sing a little better.

THe BB3 also has a barely noticeable, weird, high mid honk or something to it which I'll just eq out.
But overall it's an improvement!

I really need to stay off of Facebook Marketplace!

(I'm my defense, I sold a guitar while I was driving down there lol to my other guitarist's son. )

Saw this axe, contacted the guy... He wouldn't meet me half way so I baulked on it for a day.

He messaged me today saying he'd be home.... Arrrrgh ok I drove 2 hours south and picked it up.
It was way more chewed up than the pictures looked. The neck was straight, the frets good, most of the damage was on the sides and rear, no major cracks or anything..... I didn't even low-ball him, he looked rough and needed the money even more than this old scallywag!

Brought it home, gave it a bath. It's just to that starting to rust in a few spots age... The action was like 3/4 of an inch!
I took Lem-oil to the board, scrubbed it all over, cut the rusty strings off, cleaned and wiped it over and over. Screwed in some straploks, adjusted the neck... Dropped the bridge. New strings and tuned it up. Actually sounds huge! I've always wanted one if these, either in a bich, or in blue..... They are getting pretty scarce at least in this color.... This black one is still pretty wicked I think.

I give you The "ROAD HAG"

To be honest BC Rich makes the only stock pickups I like! Ever! I may not even change these out!

First sound byte:

Sweet!!! I picked up a Les Paul with the same finish. I LOVE IT. BUT, I also picked up a Mockingbird. I was searching and searching for a Candy Apple Red Bich, (bought one in the 80s with money my mom left to me when she passed, and someone stole it right off the stage at a gig).
I found this beauty while searching for the BICH: 1000027074.jpg

The pics do NOT do her justice. I also see you're a fellow Marshall lover. I think you might appreciate this!:

I customize EVERYTHING. Well, save for my Gibson collection.

I was running through rehearsal last night and I noticed the knob being a bit of a pain.... You are correct sir. It's in the way
I was afraid of that. That's another thing I love about Les Pauls, 4 knobs, but none of them in the way. If it was mine I would just make the other 2 knobs a MV/MT and plug that hole with a bullet casing.

...I've done that before, lol.

That's my thought exactly.
I may just bump them all back a hole, glue the tone wide open and tuck it inside. Put a non functional arcade Killswitch in the hole, or even a silly little led light or something.

That would work. If you don't use the tone why not a 2 volume set up and make the switch a blower switch to send the Bridge pickup direct to jack and bypass all controls? I did that on one of my Warmoth builds and it was awesome!

If it were up to me, all guitars would have 1 pickup and 1 volume.... That's all I'd need like the esp alexi laiho model
