What's on Your Workbench?

Just finished this original design build called "Stryker" that I've been planning for years.

This fine instrument was mostly inspired by the crazy Kuthiery of our brother the mighty @Ku² (probably goes without saying.) It's frankly a dream come true and I only made one compromise. Could not fit the Bigsby to it, which is a bit sad, but it's still got tone for days, it roars, it whispers, it howls like a banshee. I literally cannot put it down, it practically plays itself! I know all of you are probably going to make me ridiculous offers but NOT FOR SALE!!!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm building a ECC83/12AX7 valve tester will test ECC81 & ECC82 as well. I test ECC83/12AX7 valves as same operating conditions like an amplifier on this one. I use prety the same Madamp J5MK1 amplifier power suply.

I know anode voltage and anode current and on cathode too in each triode on that one I'm bulding. Same thing for filament.
I have 250 Vac on secundary HT side on this transformer as It have on my Madamp. I use a 12 Vdc power suply for heater. I use a 5Vdc phone charger for displays. You can see on one picture B+ voltage 325Vdc and anode current 1,30mA in one triode on this 12AX7.
This is a prototype. Needs arrives some parts yet. I will do It with digital current/voltage meters. You can see on one picture a current digital chinesse meter has 2mA of innacuracy on the mesurament.

There is a thread like this on another forum for small snippets that maybe dont merit a new thread. Somewhat like our So Anyway thread.

This is my first crack at a bone nut from a blank for my Indio Tele from some months back.
Not great, but functions well - except the G string slot was a bit wonky.
The Hosco double sided 10-46 nut files I have has an .017 - but it is too wide for an unwound plain G.

I scratched up some bone dust to fill the slot and dabbed the CA glue on it, re-cut the slot with the B .013 blade and massaged it a bit.
I made the initial cut with my swanky new X-acto mini back saw, didnt make it into the pic.

Not great, but works well.
I will probably make another, but this is ok for now.

I rubbed candle wax on the clamp jaws so any overflow of the CA glue wouldnt stick.

Nice work!!

Fellas you got punked. I did NOT build that monstrosity. I searched for ugliest guitar and it came up in the results.
You guys are far too kind!
I really love it. I like weird, odd, different. Too many guitar shapes are so generic. I'd rock it.

This is what's currently on my workbench. #003 of The Industrial Waste Collection. Made a rookie mistake by drilling the pup ring screw holes AFTER running the wire to the control cavity, and SURE ENOUGH, I drilled RIGHT through the F'IN wire. So now I have to dismantle the entire clusterfrack of wiring. Oh, when I say clusterfrack, I mean CLUSTERFRACK.

Did you make that guitar Ku ??Thats pretty wild.
Yessir! 1 of 3 from my Industrial Waste Collection. I personally think the distressing came out the best on #003, so I'll probably be throwing #001 & #002 back on the bench for some 'brown-wearing' distressing. Hard to find the best color/consistency oil paint for this type of distressing.

(I have to use screen shots because the image size of the pics never allows me to attach, lol. I don't know how else to make that work)

Those are pretty wild . Almost like the Steam Punk ones you see on the Webs. I hope that saw blade is not driven hhahahaha

Last night at rehearsal, I noticed a small gap in my board/headstock.... I gave it a small twist to see if it was really a gap, or just what ?

I heard a small pop.... Aw crap!

So today it got the glue and clamp treatment. Hopefully I got enough in there to secure it well enough. I couldn't figure out how to get glue in there, so I just worked it in and out with a razor blade for like 10 minutes.
I could feel with the razor how far it was loose, only to the 1st fret or so. Someone must have dropped it and just popped the end part lose.
Anyhow, makeshift Luthier here.

Got my new-to-me, non-functional 3210 on the bench.
Cobbled together a light bulb limiter from an old lamp, a junction box and switch.

Getting technical assistance from a few Marshall guys from various parts of the planet.
So far, I've gone through just about every component and we've narrowed it down to a voltage drop on the negative rail.
MOSFETs and filter caps are disconnected and reading ok, but the voltage imbalance needs tracked down.
There are a few suspect transistors that will probably need removed for better readings.
Got a multi-function o-scope / signal generator / transistor tester inbound today to re-check some parts better than just the cursory DMM readings.

@Headache You sure it wasn't the truss popping? Now I have to show you an old workbench photo of an acoustic a friend brought me, in a gig bag. Let's just say, the ONLY thing holding the headstock on, was the strings.
