My last post on this subject. National Weather Service finally closed out their investigation of the weekends storms. Final count for tornadoes in the Chicago Land area. Includes nine NE Illinois counties and three NW Indiana counties. All but one was either EF0 or EF1. There was one EF2. The bigger issue was the straight line wind. While up here by the WI border where we live, the leaves on the trees barely moved.... there were areas of this storm that the straight line wind was hurricane force. I think at the end of the day, the straight line wind caused more overall damage than did the tornadoes. Lots of roof damage and downed trees not attributed to the tornadoes.

Sunday - July 14 - 7 (originally was 6. One more was just added)
Monday - July 15 - 31 ( broke the one day record of 22)
