Frank Lloyd Wrights Revenge. The Tulsa Massacre.

I don't quite understand what FLR had to do with Tusla...(?)
Richard Lloyd Jones was FLW’s first cousin. Frank was a notorious philanderer who had a secret family with one of his mistresses. He had built his mistress and their bastard child a Frank Lloyd wright house to live in. They had hired a black servant from Barbados who was a devout Christian who was appalled this immoral relationship. In 1915 while in a fit of rage this servant set their house on fire then attacked all the people trying to escape the burning house with a machete. This was a horrible event. After the Tulsa Massacre around 1929 Frank Lloyd Wright bequeathed the historical “Westhope House” to his cousin for all he had done for the citizens of Tulsa. That’s why I say “ Westhope house was the vig”. Vig is a loan shark term for the interest on the loan.

Richard Lloyd Jones was the Tucker Carlson of Tulsa in 1921. He ran the Tulsa Tribune newspaper and his competition was The Tulsa World newspaper. In order to sell more papers RLJ pandered directly to the KKK. He ginned up a bunch of hate toward the Greenwood community by writing articles bout how the Black Wall Street folks were taking resources away from the white folks. Then on June 1 he wrote two articles one was about a 15 year old kid who accidentally bumped into a white young female elevator operator in a building downtown. This article was titled “Nabbed A Negro” about this incident which was dismissed a couple of days later for it not being an assault but just an innocent accident. In that same issue he wrote another article titled: “ Is it time for a Lynching” and this set off the riot that destroyed Greenwood and killed over 200 innocent civilians.

That was a great video, Scott.

The Tulsa Massacre was largely erased from history.
i only learned of it from the Watchmen tv series, and at first i thought it was fiction.
Then i found out that it had actually happened.
Even the few contemporary accounts extant often referred to it as the 'Greenwood Race Riot',
implying that it was the black community that went on some sort of rampage which had to be
put down.
i made this piece 3 years ago on the 100th anniversary of those tragic events:

A side note re: polygamy and architects ...
FLW wasn't the only prominent one with more than a single family.
i remember a documentary made by Nathaniel Kahn about his father, Louis.

It's well worth watching imo.

I first learned about it from the Watchman too. My family is from Oklahoma and my parents grew up there in the 30’s-40’s. My mother had never heard of it growing up which led to a big fight because she is racist and couldn’t give two s**ts that it happened and was covered up.
