Announcing... RiffMasters!

Main challenge

Thank you. I don't have a lot of energy but I'll try and get something together.

At least one “Spy Game” Main Event submission (post 3147) is due in this RiffMasters thread Weds. July 24, 7PM.
There is also a "Funk" Duel side challenge for an easy single point (Post 4175)
As well as a "Jazz Oddyssey" side hustle for 5 points (post 4286)
These two side challenges are due July 26, 7PM
Who's the nerd that dreams up these challenges anyway?? Lol.

I enjoyed listening to this. It sounds like you have done film scores or you are just adept to all things music. lol
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed, it was done in one sitting. I started out with another theme that was equally as good, but shelved that after a few minutes. I've not done film scores professionally, but I'm drawn to the flowing abstract nature of it.
Hard to explain.... one's psyche takes over - you let go - and have your subconscious & instincts take you along for the ride. I imagine it's similar to painters who can free-form paint plausible scenes and scenarios without thinking too hard about it. Being able to play different instruments helps a lot, plus with some production skills and tools; the final result can be realized quicker without having to depend on others.

@Jethro Rocker serves up his Jazz Odyssey and it's a gooder, definitely worth the four automatic points.
which I believe suddenly catapults him over @Randy Van Malmsteen who has not yet Funked, or Jazzed.

Jethro bravely broke loose his sticky gain knob and bypassed all his tone-sucking dirt pedals, so we can
all be treated to some tasty pure and swingin' six stringed lightness and joy! Particularly enjoyed after
about a minute in, where he seems to get bored with it all, starts to steer it a bit Metheny, spicing it up
a bit.

He didn't even feel it deserved a real song name? I'm titling it "Sweet Saskatoon Pie."

My hope is, this piece of musical "yum!" for my ears could signal a new artistic direction for him.
I guess the trick will be explaining all this to his cover bandmates? Will they even notice?

Way to go Jethro... it was real good. This is a great exercise for the next round, too, though
I promise, NO MORE JAZZ required after this, unless you really WANT to jazz something up!

Thanks!
I normally don't use dirt pedals... :D
I went through it a few times first and found something more "spicy" at that point during recording but didn't want to do it again and risk making too many bad note choices.
Jazz is fine by me, bring it on! Flamenco maybe??

Guys,
I have spent longer than I care to say just trying to record the backing tracks with no luck. I either get complete feedback or nothing at all.
