I have followed pro baseball casually since I was a kid
My grandmother watched the Yankees and I can remember Lou Pinella as a player (lol)
I have followed the Mariners since the mid 80s.
They won a pretty cool game tonight against the Twins and have a good but sometimes frustrating team this year.
Peace

Lifelong Orioles fan , was great as a kid who loved baseball watching Brooks and Frank Robinson , Jim Palmer and many other great players . The year they had 4 20 game winners , that most likely will never happen again . Then as a young man the Cal Ripken and Eddie Murray years . And then the decline of a once great organization occurred .,,,, it has taken a long time but the team and the organization has rebounded and is loaded with some of the best young talent in the game . They are playing great so far this year but the starting pitching has been decimated with injuries so it remains to be seen how far they can advance this year …..

My brother has always been a Cards fan…… since before either one of us shaved. Me…. Wasn’t a priority. Sorta rooted for the Mets when the first started.

But it was along about 74 it became obvious being a Cub fan was in my future. Started dating my future bride and her dad was Cubby blue through and through. Figured it’d be a deal breaker not to also be a Cub fan. So 50 years later. Still married and still a Cub fan. Even when they suck.

Edit: Should have clarified. Not married 50 years. Dated 4…. Married 46.

My mother watched the Dodgers since they played in Brooklyn. It cost 5 cents to go to a Dodger game in 1920s when she was a little girl.
She kept watching the Dodgers all the way to 91 years old. She could still name all the players on the team. She was the greatest Dodger fan.

Before I moved out west, I lived in Northern VA and followed the Orioles.
I remember when Cal Jr made it to the Bigs and played with his father for a time
Eddie Murray was a great hitter

Cal’s brother Billy was also on the team . No where near the player Cal was but good enough to get to the big leagues . Eddie was one of the best hitters of all time , one of the few to hit 500 plus homers and 3000 plus hits . He was the King of the 3 run bomb for a long time !

Was born and raised in Baltimore County. Was 10 years old in 1966 when the Orioles swept the Dodgers, which was unheard of back then. Brooks, Frank, Boog Powell, Louis Aparicio and pitcher Dave McNally (who hit a grand slam in the 1970 WS). Lost interest after I moved to CA in 1976.

I just scored some cool tickets from work
Seattle's AAA team is in Tacoma. So that is half the drive for me already
Looking forward to it
Greg Santos is starting a rehab stint there on that day
