NGD - '06 Gibson Flying V Faded Cherry

The pickup rings does give it a certain vibe of class
Thanks, the black open coils just looked odd to me with the plain pickguard.
But I was taking fire from some V enthusiasts, so I've switched things around a bit with chrome covers and ditched the rings.
Also changed the plain top hat knobs to reflectors.

I think I like it.
Regardless of how it looks, I think the covers tamed some of the treble-y-ness of the A5 498T.
The master tone with the .022 orange drop works amazingly well for dialing in a tone I like with various amps and pedal boards.
Neck reminds me of the feel of the LP Tribute - not as thick as the Studio and Deluxe.
Very playable guitar.

I have a case that is similar to the SKB. I wanted a Gibson case, and looked for weeks for a decent one. The ones that I was able to find at that time were all either beat to death, or twice the price of the TSA approved flight case I wound up with.
Someday…

Regardless… Congratulations!
