Congrats Steve, sweet looking LP and I'm glad you love it.
My Traditional is my go to anq is the longest I've ever kept a guitar. It will more than likely always be my main squeeze.
I hope this one turns out the same for you brother (y)
 
I never cared for the Burstbuckers my 2001 Les Paul CS had the 1 & 2 and the 2002 Les Paul CS had 1 & 1 BB compared
to the custom PAF's I had wound by JM Rolph the BB sound like mud.
I wanted double white but got zebras now I have a set of the 1959 Gibson Custom double white they measure the same as the Rolph's
so why change them just looks.

I usually don't like dark bursts, but this one is different. I've been looking since I ordered it and I can't find another one that I think looks as good as this one. There are a few nice looking one's, but not like this one. If it didn't look like it does I wouldn't have even noticed it. I wasn't even looking for a guitar! :run:
 
Nice LP! Cool that there's flame in the top - is it a Traditional Plus? (Do they even make those anymore?)
I've never owned a Tobacco Sunburst LP, though my oldest Gibson is a tobaccoburst '49 acoustic.
Always kinda wanted one in tobacco - it's just a classic look for LPs and 335s...

I have an '05 Trad Plus in Heritage Cherryburst with pretty nice figuring.
Came with the BB1/BB2 set and they were completely wrong for that guitar's voicing. Bridge pickup especially - super harsh.
For an LP, it's much brighter than average, far more so than any of my others. Really an outlier tonewise.
Not sure I would've loved the BBs even in an LP with more normal sounding wood.

What are the zebras you put in yours? (I agree it looks much better than with the double blacks.)
 
Someone on another forum took my progress pics and lined them up. I definitely think the zebras look best! I'm trying to figure out why the sellers pic (middle) shows the gloss while my pics make it look like a satin finish. I still haven't got my camera figured out. :shrug:
