I was invited to do a pre-release product review for one of the manufacturers I deal with. They reached out to me through my company email and at first I thought it was a Spam or malicious email but turned out to be legit. I've been through a few of them for other companies I deal with, and basically it's just some data collecting service asking a bunch of questions about a hypothetical product that may or may not be in production, while a bunch of the manufacturers people sit in on the call.
Spent about 45 minutes with the guy asking stuff and bouncing ideas around. I love these types of little conversations as I get a chance to see what may be on the horizon in a year or two, and get to be a part of something a little bigger.
That was about two weeks ago and today I received a gift card for $100 for my time with them. I had no idea that was part of the deal so I felt that was time well spent honestly. Not too shabby.
