NGD! LP Traditional

Seems after the debacle of the 2015 guitars they were on a mission of redemption. The late-Hank J-era Trads in particular, from 2016-1019 just ended up being some of the best guitars they have made in their history, before the new ownership basically just started calling them what they always really were, Standards, and tweaked the specs a bit.

I have 2016 Trad, one of the LE ones with a plaintop and without weight relief. It's not just the best guitar I have ever owned, it rivals any guitar I have ever played from any era.

I'm just amazed at how much better it is than my Standard that was made just a year later. It's ridiculous.

Totally agree. The Trad destroys my 2020 Standard and, well, really all the rest of them as well. The only other guitar I have that comes close and that I play about as much is my '79 Custom, but that's such a different beast it's hard to compare - it is definitely better at the heavier stuff than the Trad, but the Trad is more versatile.

I have a Classic and Standard from 2016 and find it hard to AB as different hardware etc but both are fantastic guitars.

It's beautiful, pics are good, but it looks better in person. I've looked it over and over for a flaw and I can't find one, it's mint! Looks like it's barely been played. I took the old strings off, wiped the whole thing down, cleaned the fretboard (even though it didn't need it it makes me feel better) and gave it coat of lemon oil. I believe it's the first time it's been oiled so it darkened up some.
