It's finally here! 2019 Tobacco burst Traditional. This guitar is amazing, no question the best guitar I've ever played. The neck is perfect thickness and feels great even with slightly lower frets than I usually like, I don't even notice. The pickups are a big surprise for me too. I hated Burstbucker 1 & 2 when I had them before and figured I'd be swapping them out pretty quick, but they sound great and I think I'll keep them in. I did remove the covers though, I don't like pickup covers. Don't hate me, I'm not touching anything else.

It's beautiful, pics are good, but it looks better in person. I've looked it over and over for a flaw and I can't find one, it's mint! Looks like it's barely been played. I took the old strings off, wiped the whole thing down, cleaned the fretboard (even though it didn't need it it makes me feel better) and gave it coat of lemon oil. I believe it's the first time it's been oiled so it darkened up some.

Here are some pics, first a couple of the sellers pics because they're better than mine...

I'm super impressed and happy with it, no regrets buying it!

Congratulations Brother.

You know I gotta ask.....

What does it smell like?

It just smells like a guitar case. I guess it's not nitro..

Edit: I read somewhere the other day (maybe someone posted it in my thread on MF) that the Traditionals were Poly, but I just got done with a little research that says that all production Gibsons are nitro finish so I don't know.

A lot of people called them the Standards of that time period.
I love mine.
It actually was. Later in 2019 they did away with the name and the traditional became the Standard. It should have been the standard all along, but it was some kind of gimmick Gibson was doing. At the time the Traditionals were in production the Standards were what the Classic is now. The Traditional became the Standard and the Standard became the Classic.

I'm pretty shocked as to how much better it is than my 2020 60s Standard. I thought the only difference would be the thickness of the neck, but this one is better in every single way. Comparing it to my Standard it's like I jumped to a much much more expensive guitar.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, I feel so lucky to have found it.

Did you rob a liquor store? (again?) :rolf::rolf::rolf:

It was a joke you didn't get it.
Maybe I just don't get your sense of humor. You just always seem to be busting my balls so it puts me on the defense. My bad..

Actually, I haven't paid a dime yet, I financed it thru Paypal. I've never done that before and I was actually surprised I when it was approved, I didn't think it would be. Probably a stupid thing to do since I'll pay more for it in the long run, but it was there, I had a gut reaction and it was the only way I could buy it. I admit I was worried I'd screwed up, but I was never going to admit it if I did, lol. Now that I have it and it's just what I was hoping it would be, I have no regrets.
