I just ran across this little bundle of love.

The CSL Sophia 3.22. This little gadget is a direct drop-in for Tune-O-Matic/Stop Tail setups...with NO ROUTING required.

Check out this link:

If you go down to the second and third pictures, you can see the business end of this. It uses a curved spring, like a Maestro, though the spring is much more tightly curved.

I don't even know if this is on the market, yet. But, I'm keeping my eyes out for it...

BTW, they also have made a Floyd Rose replacement which some guitar techs are saying they like better. So, apparently this company has sent some of its units out for evaluation.

And there ya go Smitty.Drop that bad boy on that white Lester.I like the looks of it.Looks well made.

Yup...as soon as it hits the market in gold! I'll bet it will be pretty expensive given all the machining that seems to have gone into it. But, yeah...that's what I'm thinking, too!

Very interesting device for sure.
But it disgusts me that they didn't clean that filthy guitar before using it in a publicized add.
I guess I'm just funny that way.

It is interesting, for sure, but also very ugly - maybe good on a steampunk guitar?

I have a feeling that once it is polished up a bit and maybe chrome-plated (or gold plated) for production, it'll be a little less industrial looking. But, it looks decidedly better (in my mind) than some other devices, like the Floyd Rose FRX.

i personally love the look of Floyds,Stetsbars, that gizmo above.I suppose its the tinkerer in me that likes all the screws and bolts and machined parts ect.Hell i never even noticed the dusty giitar hahahaha,to busy checkin out that trem design.

Here's a video link from the manufacturer's website.

This demonstrates the Drop-D option you can get for the unit, plus a little whammy work. There are other videos on the manufacturer's website.

But, you can get a sense of how it looks on a guitar. Frankly, it's not as bulky and clumsy looking as some others.

Now I'm second guessing doing a more expensive tailpiece on my Studio. If this thing comes out and will work on my guitar, I'll end up just removing the bridge and tailpiece.

Hmmm....

I was looking at these last night too. Definitely an interesting looking piece of kit. Curious to see one when they come to market...still in development though.

Very interesting no-routing option!

^^^That's actually a pretty reasonable price. I need to keep my eyes peeled for gold one. But, there tends to be enough variance in Gibson post placement that sometimes retrofitting to aftermarket items requires relocating studs. This is true of the Kahler stud mount trem. Installing one of those would have required me to relocate my studs further back, but the internal chambering would not have allowed it.

I'd need to get all the specs from the manufacturer and a template to be sure.

Here's another video:

BUT does it dive bomb and squeel like a Floyd? \

I dont see no videos of folks HAMMERING the poop outta one .......like a proper FLoyd
