How could I resist?

I know I linked to here for Mikey on ST last week, but is there any particular reason for the continued wave?
Some folks believe the moderating at ST has become a little capricious. Me, well, I suspect I just committed “suicide by political post” over there, because I’m frankly sick to death of the place. Hell, I joined because Fezz Parka was a member! Met some pretty cool people, most of whom are migrating over here.

There's one moderator at Tom's Hardware....
He steals my posts, puts his name on my posts, collects all my "likes" for himself.
He buries my name and my original posts in the "archives"...

Tom's Hardware has a "ranking system," whoever posts the most popular solutions for computer problems rises in rank...
all the way up to "admiral" of Tom's Hardware.

So...I posted several solutions, and rose up to become "admiral"
and this moderator took all the credit for my posts, put his name on my posts...and made himself "admiral." Blocked me from becoming "admiral."
No kidding this really happened.
The guy plagiarized my posts ---put himself right into the top position.

And when I complained about this, I was told I would be thrown out of "Tom's Hardware," for complaining.
True story.

This sounds awfully familiar. Sounds just like my old boss lol
Seems to be a standard in shtholes like reddit too, where people "farm" "karma" points, using very similar tactics.

That’s supposedly the rule at ST, too.
Those are the rules everywhere.
Fallible humans enforce the rules.
Sometimes things go sideways.
Generally, eventually what we see is moderators wind up enforcing those rules against posts that they either don't like or personally disagree with, while others seem to get a pass if the statement is something they like or agree with. Goes for both issues and both sides. At almost all forums.

Here at TTR, you won't find a whole lot of the bickering and poor attitudes and stuff that are easily found at the others.

We have good mods here BUT we also have good members, and that makes a difference.

Reason I showed here was when the old AGF forum got purchased by some korean outfit and became a data farm. No thank you.
I mean, most of these forums are as such, particularly the big "family" one ST is a part of

What I like about TTR is the owner Wavmixer is actually a hero of the web.

WAVEMIXER

There's a handsome man, a fearless man
A man for every season
A man who's just and righteous,
Who never needs a reason

Wave Mixer! Wave Mixer!
Hero of the web
Wave Mixer! Wave Mixer!
A golden path he treads

He plays guitar like dynamite
Shreds with no concern
The music he creates
Makes all the ladies burn

When I joined this forum:
seems like there were more moderators than members...
I couldn't get away with anything! :BH:
:rolf::pound-hand::rolf::pound-hand:Damn.

And a PSA for the new guys; we don’t do politics or religion here. Just music, gear and cats. :pound-hand:

OK, we do dogs, motorcycles and food too.

That’s supposedly the rule at ST, too.
The ban-hammer at this place seems to be rusting from lack of use though. There’s a difference between this place and… the other place.

As I have said before, TTR belongs to the members. Many members call this forum home and we don't poop where we eat. We also don't let visitors come track poop on the floor when they walk in. We do have a great team of moderators mostly because we have a great team of members that don't need moderation. Our jobs are easy because y'all know how to play nice with others and as a general rule, don't cause problems.

Occasionally an BLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEP may sneak through the doors, but our ever vigilant membership and moderators are quick to point them out and they are dealt with accordingly. So far I've been fortunate that I have not had to perform a Blood Eagle on anyone.
