Kinda how I always wanted to sing ...

What I love in your sharing is your voice. The progression from when you started sharing. I think one of my very early comments was your hitting the higher notes. Sounding a little forced. Straining. You absolutely are not coming across that way anymore. Very smooth today. Awesome job!!

Thanks iblive. I know most of you remember the most terrible days ...especially Mitch, and 'thro Rocker from an earlier forum when my voice made it difficult to decipher between a human and a gravely wounded wild animal. You've certainly all paid your dues for this as well. Lol.

Thanks for you ongoing comments that are always genuine and constructive.

I can do a reasonable baritone, but my voice is so weird I can go falsetto too! It tends to break glass though... you should be able to understand... You've actually heard my voice!
My natural singing voice is bass. It’s hard for me to sing above middle C. So singing melody or lead is kinda a deal breaker. But in a choir or 4 piece…. I do okay.

My falsetto kinda sucks now. I blame it on smoking all my life. As a teen, yea I could break glass as well.

I don't think your voice is weird ..it's probably that you haven't learned to combine the two registers ..that essentially you speak of. Everyone has the break point (passaggio) that trained singers work through flawlessly, up or down or right on that delicate line.

I may be crazy, but I hear a bit of Neil Diamond type timbre.
You can throw a rock and hit 100 guitar players, the good finds are drummers, bassists, keys, and singers.
I do like the way he sings though I'm not too fond of his voice. I guess to "kinda" resemble it is fine. Lol.

Also, my works is never done as I'm just an amature - the title of the thread isn't to imply a "yes I've gotten there" message ..it's just more the style I speak of. I do miss the old solo vocalists that have somehow tapered off over the years. The '80s was kinda the end of them. Richard Marx would be a good example of this.

Thanks for posting here, pal.
