I had a BB gun as a kid. Still had it after we moved to NE Illinois in 2002. Thought I’d start taking pot shots at out local ground squirrel/chipmunks.
Don’t have that on you in downtown Chicago. You may not get out of town.
We don’t get the option. Youngest son and his family lives on the north side of Chicago, so we get into town occasionally.I don’t go anywhere near any city’s downtown.
Mine was pretty simple. I could blow up plastic model ships with it. Not sure if I actually hit one of those little ground vermin that I would have hurt them.I still have my BB gun from when I was a kid, Crosman 760 pump action from the late 70s...and it still works!
Bad seals. Re seal it and good as new. Too lateI had a BB gun as a kid. Still had it after we moved to NE Illinois in 2002. Thought I’d start taking pot shots at out local ground squirrel/chipmunks.
Cleaned it up. Oiled it. It was a spring firing mechanism rather than CO2. Pulled the trigger. No BB. Tipped the barrel down. BB rolled out on the ground. Tried a few more times. Same story. Tossed it in the garbage.
Pretty sure no seals. Spring operated. C@ck it with the lever. Pull the trigger. Sprong….. out comes a BB. No CO2.Bad seals. Re seal it and good as new. Too late

I believe it was.Daisy?
I knew it! No offense, but those were pretty much worthless. Me and my friends used to play war with those, at a little distance, the BBs would just bounce off and only sting a little. The Crosman 760 (with 10 pumps) was equal to a .22. One of my friends (as far as I know) still has a BB in his back. lolI believe it was.
No offense taken. It was pretty lame. And three of us did play a bit of war one afternoon at his farm…… and we were old enough to know better. Stupid kids.I knew it! Many of my friends and coworkers have been or are hunters. Never been anti gun. Just never had the itch to buy any for myself. My “sportsman” dollars went toward fishing.I had a daisy bb rifle, a pellet rifle, and cartridge pistol and a Mossberg 22. My Uncle gave me a 22 when I was 10, used it for target practice when I was growing up in Northern. Ontario. I later used it in the city at indoor range , got my Bronze , Silver, Gold badges in Marksmanship. Then when all the gun laws came out, I sold it to a guy from work.

Chicago is like everywhere else now. Used to be in Chicago, one knew what parts of town to avoid. The rest was mostly okay and safe. Now like everywhere else…. There is no place that I’d say is safe anymore.I was in Chicago two weeks ago on a business trip.
