It looks kind of silly especially with a built in speaker.
However , the one thing I take notice of is it has a zero fret.
You might say , why is that important.
I didn't know anything about them until I saw a video on different guitar.

The feature is it allows very low string height.
The one knob electronics is also odd but I would like to play one before I dismiss as junk.

I think carbon fiber anything is cool. Think that started with me being a racing fan and CF is used a lot in cars. Indy. F1. Nascar. I know there’s at least one brand out there that does acoustics in CF. A friend has one. He likes it. And it’s pretty much indestructible.

Yeah, McPherson is one brand that specializes in carbon fiber acoustic guitars. I think they are generally regarded as sort of the standard setter in the carbon fiber acoustic guitar market.

A company called SWITCH Guitars used to make one piece guitars out of something called Vibracell. I don't know how different that is from carbon fiber. I never got to play one unfortunately, but the sustain was supposed to be excellent.
The lead designer was Trevor Wilkinson.

Attempting to find out the brand my friend has.

It is a Composite Acoustics, which was bought by Peavey in 2010. He says the only issue he has is it doesn’t go out of tune. Regardless temperature or humidity. While on the surface that sounds great…. He told me while his stays in perfect tune…. His band mate guitars don’t.

Did Peavey go out ?

Pretty sure they’re still a company selling gear.
Ok, I did find this;
Peavey has eight electronics brands, including MediaMatrix, Architectural Acoustics, PVDJ, Crest Audio, Composite Acoustic, Sanctuary Series, Budda Amplification, and Trace Elliot. Peavey is known for creating high-quality gear that can handle anything a guitarist could throw at it, and has 180 patents on audio equipment and instrument innovations. Peavey guitars are known for their reliability and durability, making them a popular choice for beginners and experts.

Peavey has closed some of its manufacturing operations, including its U.K. distribution and manufacturing operations in 2014, and its A Street plant in Meridian, Mississippi in 2014. In 2019, Peavey laid off another 30 U.S. based employees at their U.S. office/warehouse.

So they are also behind the acoustic guitars.
