Next up are a S&W 686 plus 3" talo ed. and a Colt LE6920MPS-FDE AR-15.

Neat things....

I never collected guns of any kind...I owned what I needed for the task at hand. I did play around with Cowboy Action Shooting for a while back in the 1990's, hence my involvement in black power arms. I carried a Colt 1911 everyday for 15 of my 20 years in police work. I started out with a .38 Colt Commando....

One agency I worked for switched to Glocks, but they kept breaking constantly....Glock would never acknowledge the structural failures of their pistols...slide rails breaking off, frames splitting between the pins...so, in the end, it wasn't the failures that caused the PD to drop them, it was their refusal and denial of the problems...and all this with low velocity .40 S&W commercially loaded Federal ammunition.

So, we switched to Sig 1911's

I don't really consider myself a collector. I was just trying to fill the number of slots in the storage cabinet I got so thought I would get a little bit of variety. Once I get the other 2 I am looking for I am probably done. I don't find it nearly as addictive as guitars.

LOL!!!!!

Anyone like Marlin firearms?
I love 'em! Got my first one when I was 7 for Christmas, model 29a (center). Still have it. They were all made locally to me, as were many firearms. But, of course our insane State taxes and hatred for jobs chased them away.....but I digress.

Just trying to say, I love me some Marlin firearms!!:D

Looks to be a Mojave rattlesnake. Those are very dangerous. They're interesting in that there are two variations of venom they may have. Rattlesnakes generally have a hemotoxic venom. But Mojaves are a little different. Some have a neurotoxic venom, whereas others have a more hemotoxic venom. This is part of what makes their bites so deadly. It can be difficult for medical personnel to know exactly what kind of venom they need to treat for if a person has been bitten by a Mojave rattlesnake.

Good eye and good observation on the venom composition. I didn't know that.

We used to catch them all the time on the farm up near Fresno. Mostly Northern Pacific's up there. we never killed them, we always took them out to an area East of Deer Creek, between the town of Ducor and Road 208, known as Rattlesnake Rock, where they were always sunning in abundance. There is a large den there.

Those Marlin firearms are nice Bocc69. Any 45/70 in that lot ? Always wanted one lol

It's funny you say that, cause that's the one I always wanted....just never spent the money for it. And now that I can obtain it, and have a place to use it, my shoulder probably can't handle it, lol!

I've always loved classic lever actions. I've only sold two guns(like guitars, it's difficult to part with) one of which, was a 1953 Winchester model 94 in 32 special lever action. Gorgeous!!. I would have serious regrets about selling something so nice, but I sold it to my dad.....So, the joke we have, is that it will end up back in my safe someday. I hope that day is long away.

This this Moma and Babies the other day on my walk.Theres a walking trail in town that runs behind our PUD building. There used to seeing me.20170712_084837.jpg
