Give a nice manicure I’m sure.Nice, 5. Hey, in a case like that plane in particular, what would it do to a finger in the propeller??

My dad flew control line for years before graduating to RC. To the best of my knowledge, he was never “bit” by a prop. He was pretty anal about safety on such things. I’m sure some of the people he flew with weren’t as lucky….. or careful.I don't want to find out Sapi. That engine swings an 18x8 prop. I can tell you I have a buddy who took 45 stitches across the back of his hand with a 10x6 prop on a small .40 size engine.
I witnessed another friend of mine who cut 3 fingers 2 which were hanging the other right to the bone and bad hand laceration. I wrapped his hand in a towel, drove him to an ambulance 5 miles from the flying field. I took him in the attendant quickly patched him up til he could get to the hospital.
That damage was done from a small engine. He said that hand throbbed for 4 days. It was a little combat plane. It was brutal!!
Unfortunately some have had fingers removed, hands cut severely , there have even been deaths..
Its a hobby that you learn to respect very quickly..

Yes sir. I try and be pretty careful about my left hand and fingers.... and yet.... over my lifetime if I'm going to wound myself, it's been my left hand. At least three scars that are visible. A slight hand fracture about 50 years ago. Right hand..... nadda. Other than being attached to an old mans body, right hand is in fine shape.I purposely try to avoid situations that might needlessly put my fingers in danger, it's not worth it. I need them to play the guitar.
