Always dig your action shots man. I haven't wielded a Les Paul in anger in a while now so its always so nice to see.
 
I'd sure like to know how I missed this thread. :blink: I'm almost embarrassed to show mine, there are some real knockouts in this thread! This has inspired me to get better pics of mine, but these are the best I have at the moment.

I currently have 3 that are up and running, 2021 Tribute, 2020 Standard, 2014 Melody Maker...

To me it's the neck profile that counts I have never played a real 1959 Les Paul Standard but I own a 0 0 1960 LPS
and the early 1960 are 1959 profiles from my understanding so I had the Gibson Custom Shop make a copy in 2002
received in 2003 and has been my main player to this date. I did play a 1959 CS made to measure a friend owns it was close but not the same
the sad part was it was a dead sounding guitar he wanted to hear what it sounded like on stage after playing a set with his guitar
I went back to my 1965 SG Standard then I let Kurt play a set with my SG he wanted to trade guitars thanks but no thanks.
As far as looks Kurt's 1959 CS LPS was one of the best looking I have ever seen and it played well just dead sounding no sustain.
You never know unless you play them my 1961 strat sounds like a Gibson 335 and my Esquire sounds like a Les Paul
Brazilian rosewood fingerboards my guess my PRS Custom 24 has a Brazilian rosewood neck and fingerboard and neck and sustains well.

I'm just not a Les Paul Guy... *shrugs
But here's my three. Each of these is unique in its own special way.

2007 SG Faded special "Luna." Tone Pros black tuners, Ebony TRC with abalone & MOP "tribal blades" inlay by Scott Swirski
Buzz Feiten shelf nut, Gibson '57 classic and Classic + pickups, Tone Pros Bridge & Tail, premium wiring harness
All-Parts 0-11 knobs and hand carved (by me) walnut P/G and ebony switch washer. The back of Luna's neck has gone kind
of blonde from my hand going up and down. She sounds stunningly beautiful.

2018 J-45 AG "Zelda" with walnut back and sides, maple neck, walnut bridge and fretboard, spruce top, LR Baggs undersaddle
pickup and Waverly tuners installed by me. I'm sure I've made hundreds of dollars playing this guitar. She's made of all North American
hardwoods.

2012 SG special '70s tribute in satin Silverburst "Catalina." Catalina is mostly stock, with Tone Pros black tuners
another ebony TRC with abalone and MOP "Tribal Rose" inlay by Scott Swirski, 2012 new design mini humbuckers with the
blade sensors, Ebony p/g and switch washer hand carved by me and Witch Hat knobs. This guitar needed no mods, she
sounds and plays great. She's got a maple neck with Gibson's "70s thick to thin" carve, whatever that is. This one's a real
player. Love the mini hums.

A small collection, but each one unique and well loved.

I only have one. But then, I can only play one at a time anyway so ....

It's an old friend. Took it with me nearly everywhere I went, even if my part only required a plank. More than once I'd stumble into a late night jam session after a show with this thing in tow. Drove the road managers buggy when I'd do that.

My way of staying sane.

I am partial to its appearance too, but...what hooked me was the feel and flavor of its sound. I'd spent a very long time searching and knew within a nanosecond that it was a keeper.

I'd had my heart set on an L5, and while the project that demanded an archtop paid well, it didn't pay that well. I'd played ... maybe a couple hundred, of every make available, over the course of about a year, in shops all over the planet, to no avail. Either dead sounding, felt like poop, or were prohibitively expensive. I used a partscaster when rehearsals started but my contract was explicit. I was looking at going into hock to buy an L5 when this popped up a few hours away.

Made spouse happy.
