Me: 1986 - 1988

Because it was truly where I was at and know. The LA "Metal" scene as it could be called was all I ever could have wanted back then. Whisky a Go-Go, Troubadour, Roxy, Gazzarri's, The Country Club were all I dreamed about back then. Back then it was "real" too until it was trivialized to the modern history rewriting slur "Hair Band".

I'd go with 1984-1986

Rock clubs in the New York area were home to local legends. There were so many smaller venues, you'd be hard pressed to not finds something you liked. Battle of the Bands seemed to happen almost every other month around the area. Hot new acts would hit clubs like CBGBs, Soap Factory, The Paladium, Fillmore East, The Fountain Casino, L'Amours ... the list goes on and on! Rock stardom was there if you were good enough.

I had moved out of that scene in 1984 .
And I didn’t play at all the LA clubs , but friends of mine did.
It was magical to say the least.

It still seems to come out in my playing, and my head is still in the clouds there.
81-82-83 does it for me

91-94.

The end of the Heavy Metal and Hair Band era and the start of the new wave of Grunge. Get to be involved in the early days of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana. Also get to be involved in the height of Metallica, Megadeth, and crew. For me it was the beginning of the end of great concerts in the US.
