NFDAD

I am going to pull the chassis and see if it works.
Hoping all goes well - got my fingers crossed for ya'.
Just assuming you got tubes.
Do you have a start-up plan?
Obviously look for visual signs of circuit damage.
I ain't no amp tech, but I'd check fuses for continuity and pop my probes under the power tubes to watch the plate voltage and mA to make sure they don't go crazy high and stay stable.

Ugh, yes and no. A plan no. I did locate some tubes.
I don't have a soft start set up anymore.
I am going to inspect the board.
Reading about those burnt resistors on MF. I don't even know what year this one is.

Somehow the Treble pot cuts out ... but I moved it to a spot it will play.
So, there's just a random "good" spot somewhere along the treble pot sweeper?
Does the shaft seem bent, or off kilter at all?
Some collateral damage from the impact that cracked the case wouldn't be a huge surprise.
Curious where? - 0,10, somewhere in-between?
Might be fixable, or a new pot is just a few bucks...
Take a close look at the solder joints where the pot lugs go into the board.

I will have to further inspect the pot and board. The pot only works at either end and way to much treble at max. It doesn't seem bent.

The bummer is , that board looks like a real trick to remove.
I have replaced pots that were board mounted and it was a pain. I would rather use a regular pot and solder wires to the PCB.
I've never had a DSL40.
Removed the boards on a JTM30 & similar JCM600 to reflow all the tube socket connections.
Takes time & patience, but worth the effort when done right.
Pics of & labels on anything that needs disconnected.

The JTM 30 was the one I had to replace a pot on. That board looked easier than the DSL.
I probably have some new pots left from that. Not sure about the treble values.

Further inspection, there was impact to the front of the treble pot.
I am mad at the guy because it looks like he shipped it in the same box and did nothing different. Single box with bubble wrap stuffed in the thin void around it.
I didn't rip him real bad on the feedback but I did comment that it was not properly packed. Either he doesn't care or he is just not capable.
