49 er's come out to For Whom the Bell Tolls

I used to watch NFL and Illinois and Northwestern football. And some basketball. Just kinda lost interest in both. I keep track of scores and news so more or less I know who’s doing what.

I used to never miss a NASCAR race and watched many of the Indy Car races. I pick and choose a little more these days which races I watch.

I was so bad with the loud motor sport TV, in the off season I’d stoop to swamp buggy racing. :pound-hand:

Baseball…. Specifically Cubs. Don’t miss too many of those games on TV.

Everyone is safe. My team (Bears) won’t play in a Super Bowl anytime soon. First order of business would be making the playoffs. That happens about once every 10 years. Current owners (off spring of Papa Halas) have zero clue how to run a professional sports team. Bears will continue to suck until such time they sell the Bears to new owners that actually do know how to run a pro sports team.

yeah buddy thats how you enter a game !!
I think exiting the game with the trophy would have been better.
If it weren’t for the Super Bowl party I went to tonight, I wouldn’t have watched it at all.

The NFL has lost its appeal to me as the rules changed to benefit fantasy points and gambling in general. Then as if that weren’t enough, they even blacked out the Miami playoff game this year because paramount + paid millions of $$ for it. As if they needed the money. At that point the NFL decided the game is not for the fans, it’s for the highest bidder. It’s not for the love of the game, it’s strictly for the money.
The NFL has become a bloated gaudy perverse business that will whore itself out for money.

Thats my rant for the year I guess.

Agreed. It's (the NFL) become almost unwatchably bad in the last decade. And while it's always been short on action, it's now become the most boring thing on TV - what, something like 11 minutes of actual gameplay in an average NFL game? No thanks. The only time I watch now is if it's raining outside or something...or if I just need to take a nap because it will definitely put me to sleep.

My wife and I had a nice late lunch in a virtuallly empty restaurant while the game was on yesterday. It was glorious.

I used to be a huge fan, watched every game I could. But there was a SF game a number of years ago that caused me to lose interest. But I still watch the big game. Up until this year was a big college FB fan but with the re-alignment, NIL money and the transfer portal I am not sure if I will care or not anymore.
