What I liked was, in combo with the treble bleed…. Lets me play at a lower volume and still sound good. What I listen to and what I play isn’t always the same. My tendency is to play cleaner than some of you guys.50's wiring is the best

We solved the mystery lol you like the highs down & i like them consistent. Someone make a sticky post,,,lolThat's exactly why I prefer modern wiring, ironically. I also constantly ride the volume knobs, and for dropping into comping and chording I actually prefer to have the highs attenuated some. With '50s wiring the tone is still too spikey when I roll the volume back and I have mess to around with the tones to get what I want, whereas with modern the highs roll off and come back with the volume so its a one-knob operation for me.

Didn’t say I don’t play dirty. I do. I just tend to play clean more. Nice thing about liking Neil Young. Same song he does full on, many of those he’s also done acoustic.Nothing wrong with playing clean, I like playing Beatles , Day Tripper, getting those clean crisp notes. I find its good practice, to play clean in my sessions .. But I do play dirty in those songs that require it. There is a place for both.

I had Harvest on an 8 track. I have Paranoid on vinyl. I do have the first four albums Sabbath put out….. on vinyl. About the same time bought Alice Coopers “Love It To Death.” Balanced them out with some Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears….. Grand Funk Railroad….. Rare Earth. And believe or not, a live Iron Butterfly. So my taste in music has been somewhat eclectic.Ok Iblive, the first 2 tapes of any kind i ever seen was Black Sabbath Parinoid and Neil Youngs Harvest.my best friend had an old beat up 1958 Chev Apache pickup with a 8 track. Wore those 2 tapes out.So you see where my musical leanings come from.
I've been pondering on this. For me, the price is insane and I personally wouldn't spend the cash. These pups cost more than the brand new MIM Strat I purchased a few years ago (by several hundred dollars).^ You, Sir, are insane...
But, regardless, I hope that you enjoy your pickups.

Then I remembered something from a lot of years ago. Michael Jordan was getting slammed for betting something like $1000 a hole on golf. Guy is a bazillionaire..... he pointed out that him betting a grand a hole was like you and me betting a buck a hole. That even made sense to this hard headed, needs a 2X4 across the forehead, kinda guy.
My point. At the end of the day, if one has the disposable income and can afford a luxury like this. To be able to purchase something that only a few people world wide are going to be able to buy themselves. If it makes you happy.... as the CC ad says..... "Priceless."
Uhm….. that’s a touch insulting.I don't disagree, and really hope 67plexi enjoys his pickups.
But, on the other hand: 1) It's a scam by Gibson (I think we all know that); 2) If that's how Jordan justifies his stupidity then there's something wrong. Consumerism and spending money because "you have a lot of disposable income" isn't impressive. There's enjoying nice things in life - that's great (&, I'd say that buying these pickups at this price probably fits into this space). Then there's spending $1000 a hole in golf - that's moronic, and an insult to the poor (and anybody with an IQ over 60) imho.
This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^is exactly what I thought. Much like another recent “limited” pedal post here, something germanium.I got to thank MR Grumpy for posting this thread it appears to be the next Klon.

Michael Jordan is worth 3 billion $$$.I don't disagree, and really hope 67plexi enjoys his pickups.

He can buy 2 Gulfstream G550 jets and not blink.
So him betting 1000 per hole is like the rest of us spending pennies, literally.
All of us are insulting to the poor in that case cause here we sit talking about luxuries like guitars, amps and pickups.
It sucks to be poor but it isn't my fault some people are.
