This song was originally thought up during the Game of Tonez competition. @TVvoodoo tasked us to create a full album and write the lyrics to ONE song. I missed the "ONE" part and wrote Lyrics to all 11 songs. I'd love to do them all, but probably wont happen. I'd be happy to do half of them though.
I asked @Sapient to lend me his vocals for this one because I imagined his vocals in front of this song, obviously he agreed. I set to writing all the riffs and such last weekend. Sapient did some lyrical edits and did the musical arrangement.
Here is how it was produced.

GENERATIONS

(Verse 1)

In the silence of the night, I ponder on our plight,
A world where strength and wisdom fade from sight,
Generations lost, wandering astray,
Lack of guidance leads them further every day.

(Pre-Chorus)
Once we stood tall, like mighty ancient trees,
but now we stumble, brought to our knees,
weight of uncertainty, heavy on our souls,
We need a guiding light to make us whole.

(Chorus)
generations grow weaker,
Lost without a compass, getting bleaker,
Yearning for the wisdom that once was shared,
Longing for the guidance that showed we cared

(Verse 2)
In the digital age, where screens hypnotize,
Connections lost, hearts filled with compromise,
We've forgotten the power of a guiding hand,
Lessons from the past, they help us understand.

(Pre-Chorus)
Our elders once carried the flame of insight,
Passed down their knowledge to set things right,
But now the flame flickers, its glow grows dim,
We must rekindle it and let it shine within.

(Chorus)

(Solo)

(Chorus repeat)

(Solo out)

Holy cow dude do you sleep? That was amazing.

It's a killer guitar riff there's some real attitude in it, supports the lyrics well... just a bit off-swing in a few places. The lyrics... that's really appropros, prescient, zeitgeist material there. Little more Sapient in the chorus...

I listened to it again a bit more closely... and found its the kind of piece that benefis from re-listening.

Drum groove is so sick, and guitar riff has a little swing to but it needs a tad more "swagger" in a couple places to match the groove a bit better. I think just some splits and nudges might do it

"We've forgotten the power of a guiding hand,
Lessons from the past, etc..." Those two lines seem misaligned with the riff in that they don't quite match the flow... or cadence of the rest.... I think you could also split and move those to better places... a bitvlater ...not much, a beat or two... they seem rushed into place for no good reason where they sit now

The vocal "let it shine within" again should be some sort of crescendo point to my ear... perhaps going directly to guitar solo then come out of solo with pre/ chorus maybe

I want to get easy drummer now if this an example of the modern grooves included.

Overall I've been here maybe three, four years? I try to listen as much as I can from you fellas, this is one of the top three things I've heard from TTR members whether as an outside project or collaboration. It's already a diamond in my very unprofessional opinion... just a little shining up would not hurt it one bit.

You two oughtta be very proud of what you presented here. Really impressive.
