RIP Robert Herndon

My Robert story.

Many of you SoCal folk had the privilege of interacting in person with Robert. Swap parts and guitars. Living in the Midwest, I did not get that opportunity. What I received from Rob was affirmation. I had just posted that we have a lot of talented guitar players on this forum. Compared, I'm just an average bedroom hack.... at best. Rob responded to that. Reminded me that what I do with a guitar.... regardless skill level... is something the overwhelming majority of the population cannot do. He continued with " you put fingers on a fret board and make notes. That make you a musician." From that point, when people ask me if I play guitar I know longer respond with "I play at it." Now I just say, yes I do.

Edit: I agree with Sapient. Seeing the banner was tough. Shed a tear as I did again while typing this post.

Thank you for posting your story. He just helped me thru you. From now on I won't say "I play at it" anymore either.

Alex, was it Robert M or Marc Herndon who told you? I had a nice talk with Marc last night and understandably, he has not slept too well.

I let him know how good a friend to us all that his dad was. He thanked me for all my kind regards and for sharing a few stories.

I also mentioned that his grandma and I had become mutual friends on Facebook, at which, he said Nana would love to hear from me too.
It was very hard to word things just so, to send to his mom. But I did.
Sorry bro, only just logged on. Firstly it was Robert Jr, then Marc. I then messaged Melania and sent condolences and told her I would let the family here on TTR know. I have since had Robert Jr. and Marc send me friend requests on FaceBook. And it appears that Marc has joined TTR as well. Welcome, Marc, and once again, my sincere condolences. As you can see, your dad was well loved here, and we all miss him. Please stay a while and get to know the rest of this dysfunctional family we call The Tone Rooms Family.

Well crap, sorry to hear that. Rest in piece Rob!
You know it's crazy, we bought a new Jeep yesterday and I hadn't realized how long we had the previous 1, seems like just yesterday I sent Rob that temple board that was sitting in my closet wasting away when he was building a board to start playing with bands again. Crazy news :(

Haven´t been here for a long time, but I felt I had to pay my respects to Robert. Living halfway around the world from him I sadly never got to meet him in person, but he was a good friend nevertheless. We texted back and fort on Messenger quite a lot. He was always supportive and caring, a wonderful man. He used to send pics of Rest in peace, my friend.
