Welcome, Randy Van Malmsteen

Hi All,

Guitars:
  • Japanese Squier Strat (Photoflame) with a Floyd and HSS pickup layout
  • Original Line-6 Variax (I use for corporate & wedding gigs for the versatility of sounds)
  • A mystery Strat-style guitar that's been heavily modified
  • 1974-era Takamine acoustic with Martin-style logo
Amps: (I go into the board and back through vocal monitor when playing live)
  • Line 6 POD PRO XT (recent in 2024 - acquired for 175.00 with bonus floor board)
  • Behringer V-AMP Pro (for live)
  • Behringer V-AMP 2 (for live backup)
  • ADA MP-2
  • Original G-Dec (love it!)
  • Crate Tube Driven 70
  • Peavey Bandit 112

Welcome. That there is a fine forum handle. I wonder if you could reveal your guitar influences as an introduction to the crew?
Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, Warren De Martini, Wolf Hoffman, most Shrapnel Records shredders, most 80's hair band lead guitarists. For country, Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Doug Seven (to work full-time as a guitarist in clubs, I had to learn how to play country - during the 90's). Being versatile is required for corporate gigs/weddings too.

Whoa now brother! That's enough gear to make a liitle noise! If you are inclined to share any of it and are looking for musical challenge, inspiration, and general guitar fellowship... have a look at the Riffmasters forum "happening"

Is it a contest? Is it a sickness? Or is it an a torture session?

We are currently only in Round 2, so pretty early on. I've seen a vid of Yngwie performing folk music ... true story!

Why does it always revolve around folk music with you????

@LiveeviL2000 bcz folk is from where all music comes from you silly!

Do you actually think we would have had any metal at all if it weren't for some long-haired Neanderthals hittin' hung-up hides with dino boanz while other tribespeople randomly screamed at each other about how sexy they were or having a good time in the back of the cave then some other shaman-type fella throwing stuff on the fire making or flare up most dangerously every once awhile and all that smoke getting everyone high?

It's pretty much a Motley Crue concert right there.

Welcome to TTR.
