Too much rust back east probably doomed most of em, plus no cool factor like you said.

I still remember back in 9th grade we also had 10th graders who could drive. The coolest cars I remember were one fella in my grade ( probably failed) he had cancer and his dad owned a gas station or something car related. He had a 69 Z28 while one other 10th grader had a bad ass RAT Rod called a Hudson. it was a major land yacht. It looked like this.
