Bin those red chicken heads ASAP.What am i going to do with it? humm..
Another friend who had one of those was in a touring Ska band. He loved it, as it was a much louder Fender based amp that he used with a Strat, while battling horns and keys for sonic space on both stage, and in the house mix. That's one of those really good live amps.Ok, first off what they say about it being loud..understatement. I am no fear of volume ever but this thing is a beast
Have initial 15 minutes on it. 2x12 closed greenbacks & 2x12 semi V-type & Crate branded early 90's celestion
Clean- for as long as you want it-breakup not happening without a pedal or its way too loud for prob even in a band
Chan 1 -dark voiced
Chan 2-brighter
what does it remind me of.. Like 67 said, its blackface clean for sure, my initial impression is it stays cleaner longer than bassman equivalent.
What am i going to do with it? humm..first going to use 2 1x12 jensen's semis & play with pedals. I was finding good stuff with volume up just where the tube kicks in with some heft & used pedals. Going to be a pedal platform. More than likely the cab will be in bandroom & will record it until it warms up to be back there. Then we can use it properly.
It did overdrive nice when dimed but way too loud in the front of the house.
Is it practical..nah not at all but come March when a drummer is back there with me should be alot of fun.
Studio i got it from had a strat to play into it when we jammed it. What a match !! No pedals just dimed it & that start was in the zone.Another friend who had one of those was in a touring Ska band. Like that cab, i think might make one !! Be interesting to close bottom half & leave top half open like mesa HalfbackI had a cab for one of those. They came with EVs in it. I sold it to a friend who had the matching head.

This one is very similar to a Marshall 1987, which was derived from a 1959 Fender Bassman. The earlier ones (Model 001) were more like a JTM45 in that the cathodes were tied together on Valve 1. The Fender Blackface Bassman was a totally different animal. They are good amps Russia's take on a black face Bassman

Sure.Hey does anyone know if these channels can be used together?
Thanks man. Question, i favor trainwreck 3 style PPIMV, any chance that can work decent in this circuit? This one is very similar to a Marshall 1987, which was derived from a 1959 Fender Bassman.
