First rig? Not one considered the usual.... but it is the first guitar and amp purchased together.

1974 Traynor YGM3..... complete with 20 screaming watts. Today wearing a Celestion 12" Vintage30 in place of the standard Marsland.

1974 Ovation Acoustic/Electric. Old school. Equipped only with a volume knob. No on board EQ.

Now. The first electric purchased about 35 years later. Epi G400 that over several years I've modded or replaced everything but the wood and the plastic.

Still own my first rig actually lol
A 1994 Fender Telecaster MIM ( now heavily modified from it's original form) and a little cheapo Squier Champ 15GR Dual Cascading Gain 1x8. Got them for my 12th birthday back in 1995. I've actually snuck and used them in some videos as a goof ( not the guitar as it's fine but the amp is a lil less than spectacular)

The first half was using said rig playing a song a would've learned starting out with it lol

Then this was just a demo of what I had to work with starting out, playing around with the dials.

The Ovation is actually my second guitar. First was a 12 string Yamaha acoustic. The Traynor is my first and only amp I've purchased. I do also get to use an early 70's Fender Vibro Champ that came with my blushing bride when we got married.

Also. Are you sitting cross-legged on the floor? I can no longer do that. I'm to the place today where I almost need help to get back up. :cautious:

Lol yeah I was and funny you mention it: when I went to stand up, I sat right back down from my leg going to sleep: pins and needles

My first rig started with a Japanese Epiphone ET-290 Crestwood. It was a great first electric guitar. A year later, I bought a '68 Gibson SG Junior and ended up selling the Epiphone to finance an '82 Gibson Les Paul Standard. I still own both guitars. My amp at the time was a '65 Ampeg Gemini II that I bought from my guitar teacher. I used that amp with an MXR Distortion+, Ross Compressor, and Morley Wah for years. Actually used them right up until I got my '89 Marshall JTM45 reissue and Hiwatt Lead 50R. Also still have the Ampeg, DIstortion+, and Morley. Need to fix the Morley one of these days. I wish that I still had the Ross compressor. I loaned it to someone, and never saw him again.
