Got one of these ordered yesterday - used from GC.
Had a $10 gear cred, so kinda covered shipping.
Gonna run it through a few amps and see who likes it most.

That's a great lil Overdrive/Distortion unit and you can't beat the price. I got one a year or so ago and it works great. It's heavily based on the Fulltone OCD, though not quite 100% pound for pound matched. But at the price point: how could you argue against it?

I think it works better as a straight overdrive vs more of a distortion unit, as it can get muddy if you go too high with it but it's got that High and Low Level switch, which clears up that problem a great deal if you keep it in High Mode.

I had been looking at the waves stuff, I just need to take a break. I also purchased a custom drum set exp pack in EZ drummer. I need to upgrade to 3 but the thing bugging me is a control surface. I don't have room for a electric kit but the
Alesis Sample Pad Pro would work. View attachment 96512

Good idea!

Also, Waves is cool for the 3rd party branded plugs like API, SSL, and Abbey Road. I've got them and they are awesome. You may want to stick to them with Waves instead of all of their own exclusively branded plugs. Just sayin'.

ibs is rockin' the kasbah!!

The guy I bought the Matamp cabinet from sent me a photo of the shipping box, and tracking info today. It's coming truck freight from Montreal. It's a straight shot down Routes 89 and 93 to get here. Hopefully, it won't be long. We've been working on this deal since summer, but we've either both been traveling at different times or I was having surgery or other stuff going on.

Abbey Road is the closest thing i ever experienced to analog , like darn close warmth somehow in digital format.

I've been looking for deals on strings.
Since I sorted out a couple of strats and teles earlier this year, I have not really had any GAS.
I need to start looking for local in person lessons again.

For sure. Abbey sounds great. You could use them exclusively for everything, I think. You should try their "studio environment" plug. I use it 100% of the time. On the back speakers It sounds like I'm in a million dollar studio mixing. If you do get a studio tool like this make sure you shut it off when you render because it will sound odd and wrong after. I didn't think about this at first, and was rendering it by mistake.

I use no head modeling and go with the stock sound - the sound of no headphone adjustment selections. The BIG speakers sound like movie theatre and surprisingly do not effect the mix in a bad way at all ..it becomes easier to mix actually.
