I am going to have to scrutinize all guitar forums.
I have been hoodwinked, Bamboozled, thrown under the bus.

Actually , I should take responsibility.
I had found a dream guitar at an unreal price. I snoozed and lost.
A new Demo for just under $1700.
50's Standard , Honeyburst , natural mahogany back. The anguish.

Before the internet it was the hunt it still is in a way 2008-2010 the crash I cleaned up
the time to sell is November December the time to buy is January to April 15
unless it's high dollar vintage guitars then the dealers are trying to restock before April 15
load your guns get ready for the crash of 2024

Ahh the anguish. feel your pain. Realizing when you see what you need, if finances are ok at home. Just Get it i have learned over the years.

I tried to set gear purchasing rules for myself with this go round but obliterated it with 4 new amps & 5 new guitars & 1 cab in last 45 days.

Cool! 67 ^^^ says buys season is just around the corner Yikes !!

I suppose , oops.
I did look at a tribute like yours. Significantly less in comparison but very nice.
Those are carved maple top right Steve ?

Yes. While it's a fun guitar, plays and sounds great, it's no comparison with my Standard. And from what I'm seeing lately on used prices that was a good deal, sorry you missed it.

Spend a few more bucks

That's a nice one but my idea is the honeyburst. There are plenty around. Seems like a good market for them. The deal was it was a Gibson Demo from Gibson but they are blemished so it would be a player not a collector but that is fine with me. One thing is, I will never own a custom shop. That would be ultimate.
I have been watching the standards for months. Under $1700 is rare.

Why sell your self short my first Custom Shop Les Paul Standard paid $2,000.00 list was $5,700.00 it had dings in it but was new
and was just after 911 the store was a ghost town My next Custom Shop was a custom order to be a copy of my real 1960 LPS
My friend Reese is a Gibson dealer so I got it at cost $3,350.00 I have no clue what list price was but the up charges were flitch match top
Brazilian rosewood finger board and made to measure neck profile looks nothing like the original same serial number it's my favorite player
I will never understand the 50's neck profiles they were all over the place not made by CNC machines.

Man, that sucks!! I'm sure you'll come across something at least as good soon, Jamm. 67's advice is very true: first couple of months of the year everyone's tight on the wallet and trying to get some cashflow, thus selling off many good things.
