The Metal is Unleashed By Fender !

I pretty much use modelers exclusively these days. I haven't touched an amplifier in months. I'm actually contemplating selling a couple of my amps.

Anyway, this new Fender product does look quite good. The form and function are more similar to the Quad Cortex than to other products, such as the Axe FX or Helix.

If I were still looking for modelers, this would definitely be on the list. It's price is comparable to my Helix, though it doesn't have an integrated expression pedal, so that would be an extra expense.

The interface does look very nice and easy to navigate for quick changes. The manufacturers are getting better about that.

My main concern is the footswitches with the integrated rotatable knob function. The Quad Cortex has the same thing. I just wonder how well those would hold up to the rigors of live use. I mean, they may be great, but that is one curiosity I have.
 
Usually by pass this type stuff but actually watched it. Ola been very easy to grasp over the years. Almost has me thinking. Have masive PA for events, why arnt we siting in my LR with buddies & the just bring over the guitar & a device like this & we slap it in mixer & level up & play lol

Might get it, just set up in LR for winter cause with it just me dont heat the bandroom. have the Orange th30 sitting on the homemade 1x12 cabs with jensens for playing right in the room. .

Getting my first amp today in awhile cause of winter set up. Trading a sitting around acoustic for a Bug t5, 1 pre & 1 el84 tube & have all the pedals ready to make a few boards. Sorta the winter ritual. Am sorta trying to back down from heavies,

Just remember, if you are going to use something like this going into an existing guitar amplifier and cabinet, do not use any of the amp models or cabinet models in the processor. Just use the effects.

Running the amp models into another amp won't sound good.

The idea behind the amp and cabinet models is to use them instead of a physical amp and cab, not with them.

I gig with my Helix run direct to the mix with a single XLR cable. No amplifier at all.

Neural lost some of their lustre because they'd been very slow about getting out their desktop editor, which they promised in NAAM a couple years ago. Apparently, it has finally arrived. From this video, it sounds like Fender has an app coming, too.

Personally, I do prefer to have a software editor. I like to build my patches on my computer. I may tweak a few things on-site from the front panel at a gig. But, I feel like I can build a patch faster with the editor.

cool, i run the few digi items i have into the pa sometimes till i still feel the coldness in the attack.

I think that is why it has so may stomp switches. You pre set your patches with amps and effects before the show. You should not have to touch it except to switch models.
For example Fender clean to EVH heavy.

This is how I do it with my Helix. Very rarely do I make any on-stage adjustments. Sometimes, between sets, I may make some tweaks based on what I heard during the show. Generally, however, I've got all the patches set before the show and it's just a matter of selecting the patch I want to use for a given song, or portion of a song.

Yeah, I get that. And I set my Kemper up pretty much like that for our practice studio, but last time I played out I needed to adjust a couple of the monitor outputs as the room was quite different.
That said the Main outs were just fine. It was just my stage sound/volume/EQ that needed a couple of tweeks.
