Stones new album coming out this month

The Stones still have what it takes to create good music, after all they still have 3 main guys in the band.. Charlie would be proud to still see the boy's rockin out. That's what he would want them to do.

I dunno Norm. Not convinced. Their last album (Blue & Lonesome) was all covers and it was not good. Their most recent album of original material was back in 2005 (A Bigger Bang) and it was not good. One before that was all the way back in 1997 (Bridges to Babylon) and if you are being really generous that one was mediocre at best.

And...Bill and Charlie were as important to their sound as anyone else IMO.

Guess we'll see if I am proven wrong but I don't expect to be.

The Rolling Stones’ new album ‘Hackney Diamonds’ is set for release on 20 October 20231. It’s the band’s 24th British and 26th American studio album1. The album features guest stars Elton John, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Wyman1. It’s the first studio album of original material by the band since ‘A Bigger Bang’ in 20051.

Better than expected. Naturally a bit formulaic, nothing new to hear here, but still better than anything they have done in the last 20 years. The drumming is completely overwrought though - Charlie is sorely missed.

It's usually a cop out when a band brings a bunch of guests in, but I will give the record a chance based on this clip.

No matter what Gary, The Rolling Stones will go down as one of the very top ROCKnROLL Bands of all time..;) The Stones will be here until they pull the plug.. fans have proved that time and time again and I am one of them. Long live the Stones..:)

I do agree there. I am partial to the Mick Taylor era (plus Some Girls) but their longevity speaks for something for sure.

They were there in about 1975, they don't really need new material to maintain their status. It's cool tho to see people of their vintage still doing it cause they love it.

I’ll be the one dissenter. Never purchased nor do I process a Stones album. Most likely won’t start now. I acknowledge their contribution to the style music I love…. They as a group just never did it for me.

But then. Don’t own any Beatles either.

Same boat there in both cases. I like the Stones more than Beatles but do not own an album from either or actively seek them out
