RIP Robert Herndon

I have his Squier Strat. We made a trade a while back. I'll cherish it now. Many a great riff was played with it!
@Sp8ctre I have a bit of a news development. Robert's son, Marc posted this on FB.

Dad was telling me he traded his 87 strat to a man in L.A. he said the man was going to give it back to him and he just needed to go down and get it. If anyone knows who has it would you let me know so I can go get it.

First I've heard and I never agreed to give anything to anyone. I got the Strat in trade for a Schecter guitar I gave Robert.

He played Strats when he thought it was the only way to get the sound he wanted. The last 5 years he was chasing the perfect Gibson Les Paul and he finally found one that pleased him. He was also very fond of Schecters.
Played Strats like you said, or when he was trying to get the sound he wanted from other Gibson products like the cheaper SG's he gave up on etc.

I am not interested in giving the Strat away and I don't want any drama with his son. I'd appreciate it if my name was kept out of this Facebook post...
No worries from me Chris. I don't think anyone here would pass on any details. We know that when a deal is done, it is not conditional.
Or like a Seller's remorse type deal.

He seemed to hove towards a few certain guitars. I know in the last year or so, he was stripped down to a Yellow project Strat, the Les Paul and the Hellraiser. Amps wise, he was bouncing between a Valvestate 8200 Bi Chorus and the Origin 50 he had modded, along with the one @syscokid built

True,

And if I remember right, he sprayed a donor body Rattle can yellow and wanted to set it on fire for a Hendrix style video shoot.
If memory serves…. And that ain’t saying much…. The rattle can yellow Strat he was going to donate to a Hendrix style stage fire…. Was the one he ended up playing. Didn’t end up burning it down.

Funny how that goes huh? Lol plan on just scrapping a guitar and you give it a whirl and voila! Becomes a mainstay

Maybe his kid just heard some bad Intel and believed there was a deal in place that wasn't. Probably just trying to get some closure on it. These things happen. When my uncle died, there were people coming out of the woodwork asking about this piece of gear, that guitar, this amp etc. Some wanted to acquire them, some actually stole them believe it or not, others just wondered what ever became of them.

I personally don't know him and don't really mess with the Facebook thing other than blue moon browsing
