The “Inspector” guitar tribute build

It sure looks like it, but I have not tried a cover from one of my SGs. I’ll do that and report back.

What I could use help with is a graphic artist for the headstock logo. I was thinking Von Herndon on the headstock and “The Inspector” on the TRC, in tribute to the “The SG” and “The Paul” and “The V”.

I’d agree. It should have Von Herndon and The Inspector incorporated in some form.

I can certainly get on this! Anyone know the precise or at least comparable Gibson Fonts for these?

@Don O measure twice drill once on the Pro-Pins. It's strange....I know of many users installing them successfully on SGs, but once in awhile I'll have someone come back to me and say the screws I supply are too long for an SG install... which is one reason I note they are not for all guitar applications. I haven't owned an SG since around 2011, which was well before I got these happening. So I can't say for sure.
This is an inspired project!

Thanks for the heads up Brad. I was contemplating not putting one on the back, just not sure where else yet. This SG body is thicker than a standard SG.

I found a place to get the Gibson font logo and they can fit it as VonHerndon ( no space due to size limitations) in waterslide decal or vinyl. If this is ok, then the Question is, what color: Metallic Gold, Metallic Silver or Mother of Pearl White?
I haven’t looked for TRC engravers yet but I’m sure they are out there. The 3 “The” pics I posted were all different fonts.

Check this out in Font A and see what you think.

As for the decal, that was found here

The TRC on it now is a 3 hole one. That site has those too. Seeing those I was thinking instead of “The Inspector” how about:

Inspector #20
1965 - 2023

This weekend was 2 rainy days so I had some inside time to work on it. l measured and marked where to drill the tailpiece inserts (moved over by .08225 - precision :rolf:). I drilled the holes, installed the inserts, strung the outer strings, measured 24.75” from the nut and drill the holes for the ABR-1 bridge and mounted that. I then copper foil lined the electronics cavity and temp installed the hardware.

Not too much work this week. I ordered the 2 line TRC. I had a thought yesterday; I bought an Epi SG from @Sp8ctre a few years ago and thought would the rear cover from that fit this SG? It would add some TTR mojo to the guitar! But alas, it was not to be, Robert routed this one larger. I did manage to shield the pup cavities and install their ground wires.
