NGD,,,,I have been after a new acoustic for a while and settled on this Maton “Australian” EA80C. Made in

of all Australian woods. This one just felt right as soon as I picked it up…..some others I tried I just couldn’t gel with the necks and fretboards or they were primarily focused on the singer/player muso.

An unusual combination of woods with AA blackwood back and sides, a Mulga(desert ash) fretboard and a Bunya top.

Big sound with overtones for days, great for finger picking. The AP5 pickup system has a piezo and and a mic inside the body. I've yet to plug it in to an amp, but it came highly recommended.

Love acoustic guitars. Been playing acoustic only from 1973 till I bought my first electric in 2009. I still feel like I’ve come home when I pick up my Ovation.
 
Thanks guys...... a good acoustic is something I've been after for a long time. I think you would be surprised how reasonably priced Matons are for what you get. It came in at half the price of this Hummingbird I tried at the Gibson Garage in Nashville recently. The import taxes and crappy Australian dollar meant this one was not viable.
