NOTICE: Editing your old posts - OPEN

I always make typos when using my phone. Then I find them on my computer and fix them. Fat fingers and small buttons get me every time.

Speaking of rearranging. Once I get a few bathrooms tiled in, some hardwood floor installed, and a kitchen remodeled, I hafta get to rearranging my Laney Amp's mouse eaten wires. I already have experience soldering in new wires that don't run obstructed by a handwired bread board. On the Laney, some damaged ones go underneath the board. So this will be a little more involved and closer to what those who build hand wired amps do.

Leave my brian out of it; thats getting mighty personal!

Haha! I didnt catch that.

I don't know how much longer the forum will be open for editing, but at the rate I'm going, I'll need about ten more days! Between recovering some images and albums from Photobucket, creating new albums on Imgur, and searching for posts here with image links and recreating the links...it's rather time-consuming.

BTW, as I've been recreating my image links, I've run across A LOT of other posts by other members with the infamous Photobucket Dial of Death. I don't know how many others are attempting to recreate their links, but there are a lot of messed-up links on the forum.

Photobucket's policy change ravaged the pictorial element of the forum.

At least it happens while we are still young. Some forums lost many years of images. I will leave the exact timing to Wav, but I think we can leave the editing open for a while.

I am wondering what impact leaving it open a shorter vs longer time has.
To me, it makes for the ultimate of forums if we can edit with as much flexibility as possible,
as well as to upload pictures with as much ease as we do typing text.

Some forums seems so cumbersome that I get frustrated and just post less than I intend.

In addition, I made a brief check elsewhere. For example, over at ETSG I posted many pictures I am sure. In this one particular thread, my photos show while those of others show the "clock" Being pretty sure I used PBucket, I am not sure why mine don't have the clock either. Although, I have never "EMBEDDED" pics that I know of. I simply went to Pbucket's box of URL choices and Copied the bottom one "IMG" and pasted it to places like ETSG and here. Does anyone know if that copying and pasting makes a difference on whether one gets the clock of death or fully visible pics? Is this "Embedding" or not?

A full day to edit a post seems sufficiently un-cumbersome to me. We must also protect against people editing their posts for less than virtuous purposes.

A TEST to see if my pic works or gets a clock or what?

That is the exact method I used when I linked to my Photobucket images. I wasn't caught up right away, either. In fact, I was able to go nearly two weeks after the policy change before I was snagged. On the other hand, BlackSG91 was hit almost immediately when his signature image was replaced with the PB dial image.

So, the Photobucket change isn't hitting everyone at the same time, but I don't know the criteria used by their bots to identify people who are hot-linking back to Photobucket.

My assumption is that you'll eventually get caught.

This is kind of what I assumed. Unfortunately then, my backup pics are wacked as somehow they only open on my computer using something called "Windows photo viewer" <<<WPV makes it difficult to copy and paste or even upload to the forums, so I am reluctant to spend untold hours revising my previously loaded photobucket pics throughout numerous forums. Don't you see your pics listed as files in Windows Explorer?

You should be able to navigate to your files using the hosting feature of TTR and upload. You shouldn't need to actually open the image.

Yes and Yes

Now editing is possible here,,,,,,,,,,,, but what about in other forums and other posts made there that pics from PBucket were loaded and now the post is uneditable?

Smitty etc. How the heck can one search QUICKLY for all the posts one may have posted PFeckit pics in?
To me the SEARCH function is miserably slow. I can only search 10 posts at a time then "older" then click on 10, then "older"
over and over and over and still barely get 1/2 way to the final ones.

Isn't there an easier way?

Did you see this thread?

Use the Advanced Search. I get all my results. Only 20 will show at a time, distributed over several pages. But, I can select any page and any post from the results.

How to find all your Photobucket Images

I've been doing this for a couple of days now. I have image links rebuilt in about 25 posts, so far.
