12" speaker does sound the best that said I do have a 1960 Concert amp and a black face Pro Reverb with 4 10" speakers that sound good
my 1983 Fender Super Champ with a 10" sounds OK that's the only amps I own with 10" speakers big fan of the EVM12L speakers

I've got a 12" EV, that's badged Fender in my 5F2A Princeton build. Sounds quite good. Has quite a bit of snarl. It came with the spare box I had, that was used as a speaker cab for my DST U84 amp.

Way back I had a pair of EV's in a solid state Acoustic amp of all things. HEAVY as all get out, but good.
