What Are You Doing Right Now?

My wife told me that, yesterday was crazy in the local stores, because of the panic purchasing of the masses.
Feb 2011 we had a full on blizzard here in NE Illinois. Shut several counties down for a couple days. I ended with about 18” of snow. But same here. Day before it was supposed to hit, serious grocery panic buying. News was showing empty shelves in the grocery stores. Storm wasn’t supposed to hit till late afternoon the next day so I just waited till morning to go get the few things we needed. I was just about the only customer in the store and all the shelves had been restocked overnight. I was feeling pretty smug.

My wife had told me that even the Home Depot was filled with the frenzy..

We call that the "French Toast Emergency Alert System" here. It seems like everyone goes on a frenzy buying milk, bread, and eggs. Actually, that's quite foolish because if the power goes out, the milk and eggs spoil. If we did like Europe, and not wash the membranes off of the eggs, they could just be placed on a shelf in the pantry, but nooooo. I usually make sure I have plenty of canned food to cook on the grill or camp stove, and beer. Good to go. Good luck. I hear you're getting a year's worth of rain in the next 48 hours. Ought to be some good mudslides your way.

I am out of the mudslide areas, but it could effect my commute to work tomorrow.
Thanks for opening my eyes though

When the Mormon's knock on my door I tell them having 7 years supply of food is very smart.
I'm set up to run my house on generators years ago a avalanche took out the transmission lines from the hydro electric plant
running the city on generators 800% up charge on the electric bill 20 bellow zero outside Chris our drummer at that time
got a $25,000.00 electric bill my bill was $60.00 plus 35 gallons of gas and 30 gallons of diesel

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Slugs have more ambition than I have at this moment.

Edit: I did eventually muster the ambition to check and air up the tires on the Honda and while I had the air hose out…. Swapped the old rusty ugly lug nuts for a new set I’ve had for months.

A little bit of creativity, and it's all permanently mounted, and won't fall over when you open the door. I didn't have time to grab a T-fitting for the water line yet, so I'll do that tomorrow. Just got home from physical therapy. I need to find George to check his glucose levels. He's been putting us through hell the past ten days since he collapsed, and we found he had extremely high blood sugar and ketone levels. His levels seem good in the morning, then get back into the 400 range late in the day. After I have something to eat, I think I'll mix a drink and just play a guitar for a while.
