I'm lusting for one of these.
Have been for a while.
There's a lot to like, shorter scale, smaller body, premium tops available. (koa, mahogany, spruce)
Price is decent too for a new Taylor.
Downside, only the tops are solid wood. Backs & sides are "layered hardwood".
Ughhh, we call that plywood.:eek:
But that doesn't deter me. I still want one.

Anyone have one?

I have one. It is a great guitar. I like the size. I like the sound. I like the fretboard despite it being a little narrow. It is my grab and go guitar. It lives beside my easy chair in the living room. When I get bored with TV the guitar is right there.

Hecho en Mexico. 23" scale.
Mines all Mahogany with no electrics. Chose the Mahogany for its deeper sound compared to the Spruce top. Goes camping with me, too.

I dig... My mind was thinking either mahogany or koa.
The truss rod cover is tuff on yours Sysco, and that "hog" top looks great.
Now I'm gassin' like I had a fried egg & bean burrito breakfast...
 
The Koa would have been more money... like $250 more. And I think that the Koas only come with electronics, too. Thus pricier.
 
It's all in the ear of the player :)

I shopped for six months looking for a small acoustic. I tried them all, Taylor, Martin, Fender, Gretsch, Art & Lutherie, Seagull, and more I can't remember. I tried every guitar in every store for 100 miles. I preferred the spruce top laminated rosewood GS Mini by far over the others. I preferred it over the mahogany. I liked the brighter sound. After the Taylor's I liked the Gretsch Jim Dandy and the Fender Tim Armstrong. Was not a fan of the Little Martin at all.
 
I've nearly bought a GS mini many times over (it's probably just a matter of time) - it's a very nice guitar. I also really like a solid spruce top on a mahogany back and sides for the full rainbow of sounds. Seems to be great quality and also comes in a very good semi-hard gigbag, so perfect for taking out and about.
 
FWIW... On the Taylor GS Mini's, the sides and back are Layered Sapele. However, and new for this year, the Spruce Top Mini's are also available with layered Walnut for the sides and back.

Yes they've had many different versions over the last few years. Mine is a GS Mini-E RW which is no longer produced but you can still find them for sale. One thing I find with Taylor's in general is consistency. I played several GS Mini-E RW's before buying one. There was not a lot of variation in tone or fit and finish. I assume the consistent tone is because of the laminated sides and back but don't really know enough about acoustics to say for sure. With some of the other brands I tried there were subtle differences in tone with the same model. When I bought the Taylor I asked for a new one in a box because I knew it would sound the same as the ones I'd played. I did get them to open it so I could check it for flaws but I didn't play it for more than a minute or so.
 
So far I like everything about it.
Just haven't gotten my grubby little mitts around one yet.
My other two Taylors are fine guitars and do everything well.
A small body 312CE that I've had for 16 years and love to death, and a somewhat larger 354CE 12 string that I've had about 5 years, but find to be a bit too big at times, especially when seated .
I think the GS Mini will be a perfect fit for me.
 
They are nice looking. The thing that Taylor brings to it's customers is a personal thing. I heard that if you have a serious problem with your guitar, Bob Taylor will call you and investigate the problem. He has delivered replacement guitars to people. I really can't say I ever heard anyone bad mouth a Taylor product. That would not work for me. I never answer the phone and I don't answer the door.
I went with a Martin, privacy is more important than good service.
