So…a friend asks me what I think of a used Mesa Boogie bass cab that’s up for sale locally. I tell him it looks like a nice Paul McCartney rig. He’s a former member of one of the death metal bands that I recorded stuff for in the 2000s, and probably didn’t want to hear that. Anyway…he tells me he bought it. Then he tells me he needs help to pick it up…so I offer to help. Then he asks me if I can store it for him, and that I can use it whenever I want if I agree to storing it...so now I have, sort of, a New Old Bass Cab Day! This thing sounds pretty tight too! It is a hefty beast. It’s a 1X15, 1X10, 2X6, and a horn tweeter. It all seems fully functional in its hardcore road case. Pretty sweet. Edit: found the model -Road Ready 1516…not sure if it’s an “E” or a “BE”…

Yay!!!
Well it isn't setting foot in the living room period.

Nice score makes my back hurt looking at it my little Bag End 4 x 10 cabinet is 135 LBS. but is rated at 800 watts RMS peak 3400 watts
Yeah…this beast is over 100lbs…easily. I had been thinking of getting a little 1x12 bass rig, for beside my chair, but I figured that I’m better off with my 1x15 rat-rig. It works. But this beast is pretty sweet sounding. So, now I have more bass rigs kicking around here than I ever thought I would have.

Running the ‘73 Kustom K250-2 through this cab now…holy smokes! This cab is loud and clear when running clean! Takes fuzz well too(I shut the tweeter off)! I have the clean blended in heavily on the Hail Satan Deluxe, and it sounds amazeballs huge round and fat with a fuzz ice layer on top! Digging it immensely!
Gonna hafta break out some cabling, and run into the UA 6176 pre, on out to a tube power amp(via fx return)…not tonight though. Gotta decide which amp to torcher for this rig…
