Ooooh. Crap. Ok.Only thing about them is you will most likely need some foam/rubber underneath to adjust height to where you want it.
Will see how the Mojotone works out first.

It is easy and pretty standard for most all P-90s FYI they come from the factory like that std. The screws go thru the housing and into the wood inside the PU cavity.Ooooh. Crap. Ok.

My P90s all have short springs that would work fine with the SD pickups. They go right around the mounting screws. I came close to popping for one of the SD Super Distortion pickups for the SG in my avatar. It is easy and pretty standard for most all P-90s FYI they come from the factory like that std. Either,or both very DIY and within most folks grasp. My P90s all have short springs that would work fine with the SD pickups. I came close to popping for one of the SD Super Distortion pickups for the SG in my avatar.
Indeed! I figured I’d be working with foam, or rubber tubing scraps, until I pulled the factory P90s the first time…and the little springs went flipping around to stick to the pickup magnets.Either,or both very DIY and within most folks grasp.
I have had factory foam AND springs at the same time before.Indeed! I figured I’d be working with foam, or rubber tubing scraps, until I pulled the factory P90s the first time…and the little springs went flipping around to stick to the pickup magnets.
Would definitely be a benefit for some of us “heavy handed” players. Next time I pull the pickups on my avatar SG, I may add some foam.I have had factory foam AND springs at the same time before.
They don't wiggle about with the foam it seems like.Would definitely be a benefit for some of us “heavy handed” players. Next time I pull the pickups on my avatar SG, I may add some foam.
My only issue has been an occasional thump from a pickup on that guitar, if I hit either of them just right. It’s rare, but has happened. They don't wiggle about with the foam it seems like.
LOL I did, even b4 your apology.Adrian!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
…sorry @Mr. Potato Head …I don’t expect you to get that, but others probably will…

The only concern here is the Dimarzio "p-90" size Super distortions have the mounting screws on the outside so I dunno if the plate would work? But they certainly will fit the routes with springs/foam.The mini-humbuckers will have one of these plates under it. I made the mistake of having it upside down for the photo. The outside two threaded holes are for mini-humbuckers, and the two middle threaded holes are to mount P-90s. I did just check, and the holes do line up. SO, if you have this plate, then you do not need to do anything else.

My thoughts completely. Yep no slowing the mojo on this one!! Let the sweating begin!Just saw this thread... this is an epic acquisition! I say don't worry about slowing the mojo, its obviously a working man's guitar. Murphy lab ain't no substitute for the real deal.
The modern P90 factory Gibson brackets will accommodate either. The ones in the 73?…..I’m not sure. The only concern here is the Dimarzio "p-90" size Super distortions have the mounting screws on the outside so I dunno?
I am not an expert,no idea. The modern P90 factory Gibson brackets will accommodate either. The ones in the 73?…..I’m not sure.
The one in my previous post is a '78 pickup. The modern P90 factory Gibson brackets will accommodate either. The ones in the 73?…..I’m not sure.
I only know because I have them…the modern P90 brackets. They can be found for purchase readily though…I am not an expert,no idea.
